DVI to HMDI issue on a Sony SXRD

I recently bought a Sony SXRD 50" and tried connecting it to my pc using a DVI to HDMI cable. I'm able to display in 1080p and it looks awesome but the image is slightly zoomed in on the horizontal. The start button is missing and so is about 1" on the right. I can't seem to find a way to...

    Comp not posting, any suggestions?

Thanks for the tips, I tried removing the mobo from the case and got the same result. I forgot to mention the cpu fan does powerup and so does the videocard fan. I had cleaned the thermal grease off of the cpu pins using a non-residue contact cleaner, it looks brand new. I...

    Comp not posting, any suggestions?

Looking for some advice. My comp stopped posting about a month ago. And I can't figure out what's wrong. It stopped working while I was browsing the web, video went blank and got a loop sound coming from the sound card. Never posted since. Here's the problem, I get no post, no video, no pc...

Who uses AA and FSAA? Really?

I do. I wouldn't play without it! 1600X1200 4xAA/8xAF and I get more than 60fps in most games.

    3dmark 06 CPU score

I've noticed the same thing. People with dual cores and slightly overclocked sli'ed GT's get a higher score than an FX-57@3400 with sli'ed 7800GTX256. That doesn't make much sense. The problem is games don't currently take advantage of dual core (Are there any right now?). So obviously it's...

    Running SLI without SLI Powersupply

I've been using an OCZ-520 to power an FX-57@3400 and 2xGTX's for quite a while without problems. I wouldn't worry about it.

Several variables can affect your score. A difference of 50 isn't much especially if you have a bunch background applications running. Even though coolbits can accept an overclock it doesn't mean the card will handle it well. If you're getting a lower score with that overclock it usualy means...

    NVIDIA Annouces Quad SLI

So people who have too much money are idiots? Sounds like jealousy to me... I don't see myself buying these since I wouldn't want a pre-built system. If they're sold standalone then well... maybe :)

I'm going to guess 5k minimum probably 6k. It's complete overkill, I love it!

    What is canada's Newegg?

I would agree with www.ncix.com. They generally have the lowest prices. Most of their stuff is in stock and very quick shipping.

Why I think SLI is a mistake for 99% of gamers

For someone so bent on spelling how about you learn how to use a comma? I think they teach you that around the 6th grade? As for your original argument. Yeah no shit sli isn't mainstream. Wake the obvious police and let me know what they have to say. SLI is for people who enjoy very high...

I agree, it's too bad you need to pay to get 1600x1200 benchmarks. They should un-lock that feature in my opinion.

    SLI @ 1280x1024

Here's the thread: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=947398&page=2&pp=20 I only tested far cry but the difference between 2xAA/4xAF was 1 fps. At 4xAA/8xAF there was a 9fps difference. This was done with a x2 4400. Certainly there would be a bigger difference with 6800's than...

    SLI @ 1280x1024

I ran some benchmarks for someone in 1280x1024 and if I remeber correctly there was no difference between a single card and sli. I would get an sli mobo for future proof but forget about sli for any advantages.

Well on my system every 200mhz is about 400-500 3dmark points. Maybe it's different on the 512's. I just found out it odd that at the same cpu speed (3000mhz) the difference is only 1300 3dmark points between the 512's and 256's. I would of expected much more. And for suicide runs I don't...

You should be getting a lot more than this no? With stock GTX-256 and 500mhz more on the cpu I get 14555. At 3000mhz I get 13126 and that's with 200FSB.

Keep hearing blah blah CPU will bottleneck blah blah Video Card

Ok so I ran some timedemo's with Far Cry. I started seeing little difference between each speed. Like barley 1fps between 3400 and 3000. So now I'm really begining to think timedemo's don't work well. The difference from 3400 to 2000 was 65.83fps vs 59.67fps. A difference of about 6fps or 9%...

Keep hearing blah blah CPU will bottleneck blah blah Video Card

Interesting article looks like I won't need to do single GTX :) I'm more interested in SLI then anything. One thing that worries me about benchmarking though is that with demo's the AI factor is taken out of games and probably some other stuff too. Which is obviously cpu intensive. How much...

Keep hearing blah blah CPU will bottleneck blah blah Video Card

You should actually read what I wrote before you pass judgement. I even said that I don't know what 3dmark05 would tell us since it's 1024x768 but I would do it anyway. As for 1600x1200 you need to pay to do that. And I ain't paying a single penny for a benchmarking tool... I suggest you...

Was too busy last weekend, I still plan on doing it though. I did manage to do 3dmark05. I ran these at 200fsb. Ram was at 2-2-2-5. 7800 GTX's were stock. I should have far cry and quake IV done this weekend. I also plan to put them in charts :) 2000=10058 2200=10720 2400=11366...

Keep hearing blah blah CPU will bottleneck blah blah Video Card

I'm not sure. Technically running the GT @ 1024x768 should eliminate the gpu bottleneck. Just leaving you with the cpu right? But what happens when you go to 1600x1200 and start using AA/AF. Does this affect the cpu at all? I'm not sure. I don't know enough about the inner working of GPU's to say.

    Mwave has GTX512 in stock

I get 14500 with my FX-57 @ 3550 and stock GTX's that would mean a 25% increase over my current setup. Granted this is 3dmark05 but that's a nice increase. Now if the cards could sell for $600....

Is it me or they ran all these tests in 1024x768? Edit: Well they only tested with a 7800GT and in 1024x768. I really think you will see a significant difference with GTX's in sli.

    Mwave has GTX512 in stock

So looks like Inquirer was right on the specs. Based on similar clock speeds on the orb (580/1550) with an FX-57 @ 3500 people are hitting about 10500. With an increase of 250 on the ram 11000+ 3dmark05 doesn't seem un-reasonable. And with some minor overclocking 12000 should be possible...

Keep hearing blah blah CPU will bottleneck blah blah Video Card

I'll run the tests with 1 GTX and SLI for comparison. I don't plan on running different resolutions though cause that would take me forever. As for the GTX clocks I'll have to stay with stock. One of my cards won't do anything above stock for some reason. Edit: does anyone have some links to...

Keep hearing blah blah CPU will bottleneck blah blah Video Card

I've been reading a lot of people say it doesn't make a difference. In my opinion it makes a lot of difference. Perhaps not as much of a difference with one GTX vs SLI. In either case I'm gonna settle this once and for all! This weekend I'll run benchmarks from 2000mhz to 3400mhz (Gotta love...

I'd be willing to go up to $900 canadian for one of these cards. If the specs of 550/1800 or 580/1800 are true. But $800usd would mean $1100 canadian! Or more... I like to spend money on computers but that exceeds what I'm willing to spend... especially for a single card.

4 x 7800GTX (Quad SLI) I Still Love ATI... lol

Your arguement makes no sense what so ever. The same could be said for every single peice of computer hardware why buy it now when it will be out dated in x months. Why bother buying anything... Quad sli would last you a minimum of 18 months. But that's not the point. Anyone with that has...
