I'll never own a Nvidia card again. Ever. I can't stand the company for a lot of reasons I won't go into here but surfice it to say I'm only interested in an AMD at the moment and current funds only allow me to get the RX580. If I could afford more I would as I have always until now have bought...
I have a HD 6990 right now but am thinking about replacing it with a RX 580 8GB card. Is the 580 a huge leap in performance or would I be better off holding on to my 6990 until the prices come down on some of the faster cards?
Many things could be responsible. First thing I would replace would be the power supply as a wonky PSU can kill fragile hardware. You may also have bad power from the wall. A decent UPS should help filter that issue. But all in all it really could be so many things, such as you generating static...

as totally legit as say any other AR game. There is no law firm by that name in that state. OR any company records anyone can find. This guy is another fake stevejobs. Nobody REAL would say "I'm going to be the national security advisor" and then talk about how good the pot he just smoked or wow...
I actually brought that up with the staff as well lol. I was saying my drive had a read light, then I took it out and saw that it has a read and a green solid.
One would say that is normal, another would say that is a fault, and yet another would say
red on model x is normal only. all kinds...
my thoughts too, but there is way too much "backstory" for it to be a honeypot. the Twitter feeds, the profiles for this JoeBlack dude, the horrible yet funny hacked site. it's LulzSec having a little fun at people's expence once again.
ok now not only do they make me laugh with some of thier most recent crusades, but this JoeBlack think is AWESOME lol. There was a lot of creative effort put into this. All of his profiles and the qualifications and whatnot. man.
I think it a right of passage to smack talk kyle, if he banhammers your ass you failed and if he doesn't you passed. I think Kyle and crew can pretty well defend themselves.
god I HATE DISQUS, it's slow as piss, 1/2 the time the comments don't load. I swear it would be 10 steps back from the current forum based system. When engaget and giz and crews moved over to them I pretty much stopped commenting, then when AOHELL bought them and everyone quit it was the start...
We'll just have to see how sandforce-gate works out to know the answer to that. I got a $45 off deal when buying the MI edition which made it cheaper than the non-max iops edition and all in all was a pretty decent deal. I think I pad a total of 250 [ish] for the drive which is [all things...
and to be precise I'm EXACTLY the kind of customer that any company wants. One with a little extra capital to spend on lastest tech lol.
Well all companies except Apple and Sony which are the only 2 companies I will NEVER EVER buy from again. [well ok I'm going to pay the 25 bucks to upgrade...
If it were only OCZ having this issue I would be cussing them and posting about it here more as well as on Slashdot and any other tech site that might just let people know about the problem. But in fact they are not and they ARE working day and night [i was on the forums at 4am and they were...
Well they said to do a secure erase in linux and then try it but I find that request a tad over the top. Do they expect my grandparents to know how to boot to linux and do a secure erase? ok sure my grandparents are no longer with us but still.
I thought these drives where out for MONTHS...
I really REALLY wanted to give OCZ another shot at selling working hardware. I bought a TON of OCZ memory back when they where new and I paid the price for that effort by having a much higher than normal Repair call issue. Had a horrble experience with them over the phone and finally said I...
Also you need to keep in mind Corsair and others use a "reference" designed board [like say Sapphire using ATI reference board] and OCZ uses a custom board. Which is why they say the hardware issue doesn't effect them only the firmware needs updating.
About what, 11 days ago, I bought a...
I'm not going into details yet but it is also an issue with OCZ drives which is pointing to it actually being a Sandforce chip issue. Right now I'm on a 10 page thread on the ocz forums trying to get to the bottom of this. But the more we see the more it points to Sandforce so I dubbed it...
I was thinking of doing the same. I already have a 4870 X2 and a 4870 in this machine, I have a spare pciex 16x slot [ok 8x if I run the other slot at 8x and my primary slot at 16x] and I was thinking, hey can't I just drop a cheap nvidia 9xxx or 8xxx series card in there and basically use it as...
In the 10+ years I have been seriously overclocking my cpu's I have yet to have one fry one me :P Even my old Dual AMD 2100+. I have water cooled since then as well. so heat really isn't that much an issue for me. What I worry about is premature electronic migration at high voltages though and...
Lowest I can get it to boot with is 1.320 :( While it is better than the 1.424 it isn't THAT much better and I tried all the way from 1.100 v to 1.320. It wouldn't post at 1.1 it posted at 1.150 but not boot Vista, it would boot Vista @ 1.200 - 1.310 but it would crash durring the loading sound...
I know but it is what the mb sets for default for the oc. and it runs rock solid. I May play with it a little and see if I can lower it and keep this thing stable.
I was able to get it to work but ONLY after downgrading my bios. The board shipped with 0805 which isn't even listed in the downloads section :( And against better reasoning I went ahead and updated it to the latest 1206 and it was bad. My USB devices would not initialize until Windows loaded...
I had to change back to my oldest water block because of heat. My newer block got so hot one night that my machine shut down and i could barely touch the water block, the tubes were so hot they were like jello. I honestly thought my pump died and with it my cpu. But after letting it cool down a...
I may just keep the 6 gigs since I have yet to run out of memory even in Vista  And my Beta testing is fine with 6 gigs in Windows 7. I would hate to think I would have to lose speed to gain memory which gains me no speed at all at this point. Thanks for the feed back all and keep it coming :)
Ok as I have said in the other thread I have a P6T-Deluxe, i7 920 and G.Skill DDR3 1600 Memory. Fine.
Today I recieved my other 6 gigs of ram [after running for the last 4 months on just 6 gigs fine] and I popped it in and all hell broke lose.
Clock reset and it would not hold an overclock...
I'd be buying the chip new from the Egg, $5xx but selling my 6 month old 940 for about 300 which is what I paid for it. Hence the 200 for the new chip. But I already orded the parts and the 940 wasnt on the list. sigh
