Oh yeah, that'd be the one downside about Xioxode... UPS. I've ordered well over 100 different boxes of items from NewEgg, so perhaps I'm just spoil-rotten from the love FedEx gives it's shipments, but I think UPS is just ghetto and needs to die...
I've ordered from Xioxide several times... they're a great website, especially considering the fact that they probably don't have much volume (with the niche market they cater to). I would like to point out, though, that before Ballz started being sold at places like Walmart, I had ordered a...
I think this is an awesome idea for [H], and I'm glad to see them "leading the pack", so to speak. The one thing I find most intriguing about this idea is that you as the reviewer truely are stressing the system. Sure, the video card issue would have been viewable from any reviewer, as even the...
I have in my posession many high-end parts. They are all for sale, and brand-new. They've been used for a total of maybe a week in combined run-time.
Athlon64 3800+ Retail (with HSF) $350
2x512MB PC3200 2-2-2-5 OCZ $150
2x200GB 7200RPM 8MB Cache SATA WD HDs (WD2000JD) $80/per
16x...
I am looking to sell a brand-new Shuttle SN25P. It was used for three days and three days only, before my customer told me he didnt' like how it looked. NewEgg does not offer RMA Refunds on this, so I am looking to sell it here. I am asking $325 shipped for this item. It retails for $380, so...
It is is pretty good condition, a bit of dust build-up on the inside, which will be taken care of once the computer that's in it is removed. It does not include the TruePower 380 that came with it, in case you missed that part... No mods, no PCI slot covers bent or cut out, no interal wires...
I recently sold my computer system, and now have these two parts left over... an Antec Sonata (piano black) with TruePower 380w power supply, as well as a Western Digital 80GB hard drive (7200RPM, 8MB Cache, "WD800JB").
I will sell both for $70 shipped, otherwise as listed below:
Antec...
There wouldn't be a price change... it's a spare license, so it means nothing to me. :)
But I'd be happy to wipe both drives clean for you... you can have a fresh start.
To be quite honest, with Half-Life 2 especially, the game is so pretty even at 640x480 on low with my 9000 Pro. I can only imagine what it'd be like with an x850XT or some SLI 6800 Ultra action. :)
I recently built my grandmother's neighbor a computer, and she gave me her old system.
Intel Pentium 4 1.5Ghz (Socket 478)
Stock Cooling
Dell Motherboard
128MB P100 SD-RAM
8MB Video Card (I think TNT 1)
Dell Case/PSU
40x CD-ROM
4 or 6 GB hard drive
System works fine, has Windows 98...
Look at a few benchmarks, Megadeth. Theoretically, the performance difference should be higher, however the only time you see a 25-35% gap is when utilizing Anti-Aliasing or Anisotropic Filtering, as more strain is put on the cards. I can link you with [H]'s own review, if you'd like. ;)
My 9000 Pro runs Doom 3, and I have known GeForce2 MX400s to run it as well, so I think your friend is full of it. :)
Like I posted in another post, you can find 9600 Pro/XT cards for around $80 refurbished/clearance at NewEgg, so you might want to check there in the event you receive no...
Sorry if this is killing anything at all, but just to let you know you can find 9600XTs on NewEgg refurb/clearance for around $80, as well as an ATI 9700 Pro AIW for $103 I beleive. The 9600XT is only about 10-15% slower than the 9700 Pro, so it's not a bad card. Guess it just depends on what...
I'm looking to sell my entire computer system, here are the specs:
AthlonXP 2500+ Barton
Thermalright SLK-800 w/ Blue LED Fan
Chaintech 7NJL6 (Socket A)
1024MB PC3200 2-3-2-5 OCZ
Gigabyte Radeon 9000 Pro 128MB
Antec Sonata w/ TruePower 380w
120mm Thermaltake Blue LED Fan (in rear)...
I recently returned my Nintendo DS, but still have the games for it. These five games would make a great package for anybody who just purchased a DS, and I will sell all five together for $70 shipped.
If you are interested in purchasing individual games, let me know. Per-game prices are...
Last I checked, the performance between the x800XL and 6800GT were about the same, unless you were playing Doom 3 or Half-Life 2, in which case the focus shifts a little. As nice of a game as Doom 3 is, I wouldn't base a video card purchase on it, or any other sole game for that matter. ;)
But really, there are a few refurbed Sapphire x850 Pro's on NewEgg for $280/per (after shipping) here and here. That seems like a decent deal, not the best... but decent.
Refurbished Sapphire Radeon 9800XT 256MB. $294, what a deal!

This will surely qualify for Deal of The Day!!! ;)
I will die happy if I win.
Remember guys and gals, you're entered in for a chance to not only win a fairly high-end computer, but also one of five video cards. When you narrow it down, each $5 donation is roughly a 1.2% chance of winning something, and heck a 6800GT or x800XL would beat the...
