Hello, I was wondering in my board I have a gig of patriot generic ddr2 533 ram and im not that impressed with the performance im sure its the horible timings. Should I just step down and pic up some 2-2-2 ddr 400 memory. Or would it be worth it to find some decent timed ddr2?

Their cards are good for overclocking too; I have my (dont laugh) gforce fx 5200 up to 290 core from 250. Ive heard with extra cooling people getting them to over 300. Anyway, BFG is a very good company and I would recommend even spending a lil extra money just to get their support and cards.
one of my sticks starting failing on me before and the win xp login screen and shut down toook forever. and the little bar showing progress in the xp boot up screen was moving like a inch every few seconds. It may very well be memory.
I had a similar setup a while ago (my sig is way old) and it ran. It deppends on how nice of a graphics card you wanna get. High end video cards like the 6800 ultra and X800 XT PE usualy take an extra molex conector and they usualy recomend a 400 watt psu at least. Also if hes going to have...
Hey guys, I was wondering I have now 256 mb off DDR2, as you can see I need more. Should I shell out 120 for a 512 stick of DDR2 or get a gig of DDR 3200 for 120 or so?
Hell yeah i have lan parties, we dont play counter strike or UT2k4 or Farcry...
We play Total Annihilation! by the way ive read that Total Annihilation 2 is on the way...

I will second that FFXI realy is a time consuming game, if you wanna jump into a game and lvl fast go shadowbane, if you wanna jump into a game with less time consuming aspects than L2 or FFXI but more fun (IMO) go dark age of camelot. Ive played all and keep going back to darkage.
Legend of Mana, Xenogears, Of course every Final Fantasy you can get your hand on. Even Wild Arms and The Breath of Fires are good for the ps1 but ima a fan of every Rpg hehe.
Everybody's all worried about which video card to get. But, why should we? The x800 pro can run farcry in resolution that my monitor cant even run and even with tons of AA and AF, and the x800 pro is supposedly the low end card of this generation of video cards.
imo id just get whats quickly...
Actually Im quite proud of what my 60 dollar card gave me this last year that ive had it. I can run anything i put on it. and look at my sig lol, thats not a system to brag about lol but my 5200 runs farcry, UT2k4, Gran Theft Auto Vice City, Dark Age of Camelot granted i have low framerates but...

So is it possible for ATI to release a patch that will increase performance on par to the NVIDIA counterpart or did NVIDIA pull a quick one??
Hard to believe a patch can give you a 40% increase in performance but.... it looks like it can.
