Does anyone else find it problematic, and a bit of an indictment on our priorities, that a company that makes high-tech 'trinkets' is valued/coveted so highly? We're not talking about an Intel, Walmart, or Exxon, all of which provide the world with valuable goods and services that are actually...
I think most people are misinterpreting what GameStop is actually doing. Given that their tablets are coming from ASUS, Acer, and Samsung, it sounds to me like they're simply selling Transformers, Iconias and Galaxy Tabs in their stores and giving purchasers some free games as an incentive...
Could you sensationalize that article anymore? No one even knows if the credit card information was exposed and, thus far, no one has reported any fraud. Don't you think we would've heard from tons of people by now in the almost 3 weeks since the original breach?
And why exactly should Amazon apologize to the public? They don't interface with the consumers who frequent the sites that suffered from the outage. Amazon only owes an apology to its business partners and my guess is that was done in spades.
Took the words right outta my mouth. I used to support some of the things Anonymous got behind, particularly related to issues of transparency and free speech. Now they're just being assholes and they can absolutely go fuck themselves.
I can understand where you're coming from to a point but, aside from comics/magazines, where do you really see color in books? All of the recreational fiction/non-fiction books I read lack photos. That's not to say color wouldn't be useful in expanding the quality of the content...
Oh, Nintendo, arrogant and complacent once again. You figure they would've learned to be more humble after Sony, their non-threat, stomped them into the ground 2 generations in a row. Hell, even Microsoft, being a fresh newcomer, smacked around Nintendo with the Xbox. Oh well, they'll learn once...
QFT, because I know no one else has the stomach to do so. There are quite a few times where I've seen Kyle handling things in, what I would describe as, an unnecessary and abrasive manner. There's no need to get nasty, or threaten, posters if they're having a side discussion.
On-topic...
How is that even relevant if the cards are 15-25% more expensive (likely to go up if yields suck as much as everyone says they do) and suck insane amounts of juice? I'm sorry, I'm not paying an extra $100 for 5-10% and a higher electric bill.
No. I clearly stated that Newegg is not going to open itself up to liability and broadcast the implication that they knowingly sold counterfeit processors. I would imagine that Newegg had no knowledge of what they were being sold by their distributor, meaning they would not, in any way, be...
I don't get the last paragraph of the article. What does anyone expect Newegg to really say? They're not going to say they sold counterfeit processors because that immediately opens them up to liability and implies that they had knowledge of what they were selling. They purchased the...
Something's not adding up here. I checked Verizon's website and they only charge $1.99/MB. 1.4GB is ~1433MB. 1433 x 1.99 = $2851. Where the hell is the other ~$19,000 coming from?
Looks like the OCP got caught up in the hype as well. Apple isn't suing Woolsworth for trademark infringement. They're simply filing their objections to Woolsworth new trademark registration. This is a very common occurence.
Yeah, I think that's just a BIT of an exaggeration. Sony hardly went bankrupt and Microsoft has been making a profit on each 360 sold for more than a year now, hardly what I would call "barely breaking even".
It's not about the hardware specs, it's about quality of software. When you can show me PC titles that can even begin with the quality of exclusive software available on consoles, then your point will have some merit. There are now a handful of PC only developers, namely Valve and Blizzard...
You want tenacity, not veracity. Veracity is one's consistent ability to tell the truth. That's not what Icahn is doing here. What he is doing is being tenacious, or extremely persistent.
No. The ability to create personal backups/copies are strictly the province of fair use per the Copyright Act and the DMCA. Moreover, I think the staple article doctrine, utilized in Betamax, might have something to say about your argument. Fair use extends beyond mere research and criticism...
This is when I wish I had 5-10 years of legal practice under my belt instead of just starting out. I would love to be able to help some of the defendants in cases like this and smash the hell out of the RIAA's argument, which is completely baseless as all of you have already stated. Apple...
Hey Brent/Kyle,
Great review as usual. It's disappointing to see that DX10 brings nothing to the table other than a loss of performance. I came across a thread on another forum and I'd love to get some feedback from you, mainly so I can stick it to the guy because he really doesn't know...
Excellent review as always guys. 2 quick questions:
1. What AA type are we talking about with respect to 8x? CSAA or MSAA (8xQ)?
2. Did you notice any dips in performance when looking directly at character models or turning on the flashlight?
Doesn't matter. Receipt of stolen property requires knowledge/intent on the part of the receiver. YouTube neither knew, nor had reason to believe, the footage was stolen. They're simply a 3rd party host and, as was mentioned earlier, easily fall under the DMCA's safe harbor provisions...
Excellent review as usual guys. I can only imagine what all the fanboys are saying now that reliable reviews are in. Lmao, time to start digging up posts ;)
Well, looks like NVIDIA managed to an effective hard launch for all of their cards. I say effective only because the 8500 GT and 8600 GT aren't truly available. In other words, you can buy them from EVGA directly but not at other e/retailers. As far as the review goes, another job well done...
Another fine review, guys. One thing though, your conclusion needs to be qualified.
"There is no better performing video card available for gaming, at any price. If you want the best gaming experience possible, the BFGTech GeForce 8800 GTX OC2 is it."
That's not exactly true, as EVGA's...
Wow, is this shit ever going to end? I love how politicians jump all over a trailer that showed absolutely no violence. Just the mere mention of the name GTA is enough to get their panties in a bunch. It amazes me how video games get such a bad rep and yet no one says jack about movies. Not...
No, it isn't. It's trademarked Blu-ray in the PTO and Sony is merely the owner of the trademark. Being the owner of a mark is not indicative of being the owner of an entire range of IP. The simple fact that the board of directors for the BDA contains more than just Sony, and the fact that the...
Ahh...so that's what heaven looks like. I always wondered :) Excellent post, Red. It's not often that you get a glimpse behind the curtain of a major manufacturer. Add in the fact that I've been a huge Corsair fan for years (recently bought a pair of C4Ds and the HX620W for my new build) and...
Excellent review guys. It's nice to see [H] branching out a little bit. I can't wait to see how my HX620W, aka the Beast, or PCP*C, aka King of PSUs, fares in this insane environment :)
TAT. I compared it to CoreTemp and they pretty much read the same. In other news, the 3GHz overclock temps are just as good. Idle temps were only 26-28C and load is sitting at 42-46C right now with OCCT. Should she pass that without any issues, I'll probably bench real quick before running...
