ASUS A8N-E has PCI-E 4X slots Link.

I think you might be mistaken.As far as i know the bios version is only upto beta1007 on the asus site.Did you get that from any other source? All my problems started after i switched to 1005 bios.Well i did have occassional problems before that, but nothing so annoying.

I have ASUS A8N-E mobo.I began to experience totally garbled sound about 2 weeks ago.I tried two different audigy2 cards.At last i had to switch back to onboard sound.What bios version are you using? Maybe we can work this out together.

hi i dont think thats correct. its not entirely hw based. some of its functions are stii software based and nf4 corrects most of it and is mainly hw based. i think anandtechs review of some nf4 had the differences clearly. till then i also thought it was hw based. i will check if i can fish...

hi nf3 250 gb does not use pci bus for sata. it has seperate channel. but it uses software raid and firewall. i use a msi k8n neo myself. also the sata data amount will never even come close to max bandwidth of ht links. so there wont be any bottleneck other than slow fragmented disks. also...
