Ibm built thinkpad t42. I didnt game that much with it but the little fucker is still goong strong at a friends house nearly a decade later.
It was beaten, dropped, abused, keyboard broken, wireless was nuked, and travelled halfway around the world.
So far the unibody mbp i have is also...
After my 4gb went through the wash i just let it sit out in the open for two days. Other than a bit of dried laundry detergent on the screen on the inside it works fine now.
Hey thanks for the tips guys. I'm actually on the mac right now and I am blown away by it. Even just opening the box and seeing the sleek outer shell of the laptop made me go "holy shit...wow.."
Honestly, my enjoyment of tinkering with either the hardware or the software died off. It was a nice hobby and all but my needs and interests have changed drastically over the years. There is basically no room for it in my life anymore :/
I just placed an order for the 15" MBP:
2.93 GHZ Core 2 Duo
320 GB HD @ 7200 RPM
4 GB Ram
9400/9600 whatever chipset vid
yadda yadda yadda
I must say it will be nice to switch over to Mac (Forever a Windows user, gamer, computer builder, linux user). :)
edit: Hopefully my spelling will...
I've got a IBM Thinkpad T42 laptop (see sig), and I would like to install Ubuntu on it. However, I would like to backup the factory installed Windows and drivers to some CD's should I want to sell the laptop or even had it to a family member later on.
But I can't find out where. I've...
I think this may apply to Canadians only, not sure though.
I picked up an Jamie Oliver Professional Series 11 Piece cookware set by T-Fal at the bay for $352.
How is this a deal? well the original price was $800 before taxes.
The Friday December 12, 2008 flyer from the Bay has it...
I secnd what Illumini said. The heat will kill the components or the noise from 4 fans will cause you to kill something/someone.
I stopped building computers a while back but the last case that I had was the Antec Sonata (2 I think...). It was quite, the parts were cool, and that machine...
I used to get the cord, connectors, and use of really good crimps at work for free and just make my own stuff (I'm an electrician). I just can't be bothered with that crap at all now.
I agree with Asgorath. Who cares how loud the little monster is, as long as everything is nice and cool. Just get some case to hold the hard drives you want (with room for expansion) and hide it somewhere out of the way.
Thanks leSLIe, I'll fire this off to the guy :)
I also forgot to mention that when we tried to delete it, NOTHING happens. No error message(this file is being used by a....), or bell ding, or anything.
What school and courses do you plan to take? Will they offer a ton of free time for you to play games?
What will benefit you in the long run? a mega machine to play games now or a laptop to advance your studies for a career?
This file was downloaded off of limewire (totally not my machine, I'm not stupid enough to do dumb shit like this). The file is a .jpg and has a porno name (this is why the guy I'm trying to help wants to get rid of it, so his gf doesn't find it)
This is what I have tried:

The breaker is popping because you're exceeding the safe load limit on that particular circuit and installing a new one won't help either. If you install a bigger one, you'll stop the popping but chances are that sometime down the road the insulation around the conductors will have melted away...
I've been practicing on a Canon FTb and I am going to take the dslr plunge. So after careful consideration to the features of what canon and nikon offer I'm going with the D80 route.
I was thinking of just getting the body and a simple prime lens, or even the kit that has the 18-70mm DX G...
