i have had a evo for 2 years now , works great and has been reliable and solid, something i can't say for the 3 previous logitech joysticks i had before that (all of them i had to replace in under a year because they couldn't keep their center and would not stay calibrated more than 5 seconds.)...

go for more ram , games are starting to use it now , BF2 takes up to 1.2 gigs of ram on my system. in fact i just went from 1 gig to 2 gigs tonight and it made a very noticable difference in the loading times and also it stoped the stuttering i had from time to time while playing.

you will have to do number 2. number 1 wont work because when you create a raid 0 array everything gets erased.

he will need to hook up the hard drives to the old mainboard and copy the from data there over the network or something, unless both mainboards use the same raid controler it won't work. the old array is not compatible with the new raid controller.
