As did I. N changed very little from draft spec to full ratification. As I understand it, AC has had more significant changes than N did and draft 2.0 devices very well may not be 100% compatible with final AC.

It's also uncertain that a firmware update will bring current chipsets on the market to full compatibility with AC standard, whenever that is set in stone. Later drafts more likely than earlier drafts, obviously.

802.11AC isn't even standardized yet. It's a gamble that anything will work 100% with each other. Nothing Apple can do. But if they want to have completely solid devices they shouldn't offer AC chipsets in their devices until it's solid as well.
