Some of the later eMachines stuff was nicer than Acer/Gateway branded stuff, IMHO. At least the price was right. And don't even get me started on Packard Bell.
This is simply a ploy to sell us the exact same low end crap, for a higher price.
Asking how to fix a BSOD without any supporting information is sort of like walking up to your auto mechanic and saying "Here, my car sounds funny, fix it."
Not so easy on the Bionic, but what I want to know is did the OP try one of the ICS leaks? Did ANY of you hating on the Bionic try one of the ICS leaks? ICS proves once and for all that the Bionic is NOT a bad phone.
Hell, i'm still using a C2D e6600 with a GTX275 and i'm happy. Just haven't had the $$$ to keep dumping into my PC and then realizing that 90% of what I do on it involves surfing the net. What games I do play run fine on my rig at 1080p.
Snagging Driver 4, not gonna bother with the others because the only games I play on my PC are car games. But nice find!
EDIT: Hell, decided to snag Rayman 3, Silent Hunter 4, and Prince of Persia: Warrior Within while they're available.
If you use Google Talk, most Android phones SHOULD have it preinstalled, as it's part of the Google Apps package. So the odds are pretty damn good, I would say. Most Android users use GTalk the same way BB users use BBM.
The only problem with Virgin's 4G network is that Wimax is on the way out, Sprint isn't even a majority shareholder anymore. It's coverage is very sparse as Sprint is moving towards LTE. I can only see Virgin 4G getting slower over time, and who knows, with Sprint moving away from it, it might...
I'm getting older, not younger. My eyes NEED a 4"+ screen nowadays. The 3.5" screen on the current iPhone looks tiny to me. Much more comfortable with my 4.3" Bionic.
And what is it with this trend for people wanting tiny devices? Has the world wussed out? Since when is ~6oz "heavy"?
Not really. Back in the days when the original xbox came out, they would have likely reached a larger audience of online gamers had they included a modem rather than an Ethernet controller. I don't remember too many of my friends having broadband back in those days. I know I didn't, I used...
Absolutely untrue. The minute you report it stolen, it is deactivated and the MEID is blacklisted. That is why it is so important to check the MEID of any device you plan on buying from a place such as Craigslist. Because if it was reported stolen, it CANNOT be activated.
The thing that surprises me is that if this is true, it means that companies such as Motorola and HTC have actually managed to update their custom frameworks to be ICS compliant - which surprises me as this generally takes them several months.
I hate to be overly optimistic, since this is Verizon we're talking about here. But I have to wonder if this means that Verizon is actually in the process of testing ICS updates for the listed devices? Seems like it would be a mighty bold move for them to promise ICS for certain devices...
I've just added it up.
Over time, i've spent >$80,000 with them.
Never have they EVER sent me ANYTHING free, other than a stupid baseball cap with an oversized brim for writing a testimonial.
For what they are, I don't consider them overpriced except for one thing - they lack a discrete graphics card. With a decent discrete card, those prices wouldn't be all that bad. No worse than high end PC brands such as Sony. Alot of the VAIO stuff is just as highly priced. And FWIW, I...
Bionic. Same platform as the Razr, plus you can remove the battery. And you can get some really good deals on it right now.
If the Razr is your top choice right now, there is absolutely no reason not to consider the Bionic.
This.
Myself and p3droid from MyDroidWorld collaborated on some of the earliest kernel work on the OG Droid. We got wifi tethering, temperature monitoring, and overclocking all enabled in one kernel back in the days when there wasn't a "do it all" kernel.
Only after we fucked with this...
Wow, none of y'all play any games, huh? (the OP did mention games)
So here are some good games (i've got a Droid Bionic):
Grand Theft Auto III: 10th Anniversary Edition - needs no explaination, perfect port.
Riptide GP - high speed jetski racing, awesome graphics
Shine Runner - run...
It isn't worded at all, per-se. You go into disk utility after booting from the DVD, erase the disk, and then run the installer. There ya go, clean copy of OS X.
Most people don't pay enough attention to their account to notice charges of a few cents here and there, however a few dollars might be noticible.
They are hoping you DON'T notice, so are going to keep hitting you for small amounts.
That's the issue right there. A PC browser is optimized for speed. A mobile browser is optimized for small(er) memory footprint. Don't forget, even though some high-end phones now have up to 1GB of RAM to play around with; plenty of low-end devices are limited to 256MB or less. Things need...
Saw this on Newegg, and for <$300 had to pick it up (hard to find a monitor in this price range that has a fully adjustable base, let alone a S-IPS panel). After using it for about 30 minutes, I can already see a big difference between this and my previous Acer H213H (which wasn't a BAD monitor...
I just picked one of these up from Newegg, and had to kick the brightness down from default (100) - have mine on 50 right now.
This is a pro level S-IPS monitor, so don't expect the typical "overblown" look of the colors that are common with lower-end models. Most of those are bright as...
You know, i'm beginning to wonder WHY we can't discuss OS X 86 in here.
My place of employment got us a subscription to skillport online courseware. One of the benefits is access to a bunch of online books. The first book that shows up under the "PCs" section is called "OSx86: Creating a...
Okay, just sent him a PM with a link to this thread asking if it is okay to have it here.
EDIT: BTW, I just love it when someone who doesn't have "Moderator" next to their name tries to come into a thread and act like one anyways.
It's not supposed to be an acronym. It is supposed to be the word "Grid" - it is a racing term. The "starting grid" is the order and position that the cars qualified for the race in.
I doubt it should be a problem as long as no one starts getting into the various methods of DRM circumvention that allow a Hackintosh to be created to begin with.
In that case, you need to boot from the OS X DVD using whatever method you used to boot it when you first installed OS X onto your hackintosh. As long as you can boot the install disc, you should be golden.
Add to this the fact that the Intercept has a very non-standard screen resolution, and alot of games won't even work properly. I think the resolution is 240x400.
At least the Optimus has a standard 320x480 screen.
Can't speak for PC gaming, as I only play a few games. But on the mobile side, I can say that some of the best games on my iPhone are from independent developers, and not big software houses. An example of this is the combat helicopter sim "H-Elite" Beats alot of desktop sims i've played...
