Sorry about the delay. I've been slammed with some other projects outside of the case mod world.
I hoped to do a bit today, but I doubt it will happen.
I'll post more soon, thanks for the concern and thoughts so far.
It does make sense, however I'm trying to keep everything off of the motherboard.
I think I may sleeve it individually and notch the top of the motherboard tray to slide it over.
The ATX will have a hole behind the board and same method used.
PCIe will probably get the same too. In...
Get a coupe 90* versions and use those on the drives... maybe use black as they don't stand out
and route them to the side of the gpu, not right infront of it.
svc has them cheap, as does monoprice
Problem is, his shows the drives (though it does look good)
Ill see if I can throw together a "step" like his for ya though... email this evenign (sorry forgot last night)
Only $40? holy crap, nice!
I can email you the PDF I slapped together for my "window", but honestly I'd just keep a simple rectangle with radiused corners, either the same as what is currently there, or a bit larger (ie the radius of the front/rear of the case).
You could find a larger engraver... call some signshops that do actual business signs, not just wraps and banners, they will know of someone (usually).
Keep a theme to what you are doing, I would look at galleries on several sites and see what you might come up with. Maybe do your own...
The CM case is sitting in my living room, along with numerous boxes from the build and prior builds. I believe I'll use it for a HTPC in the near future after I figure out exactly what I can and can not do with a HTPC. I believe it would fit nice with my entertainment center, as it is bare...
hrmm, maybe darkness, I like that too!
splicing, soldering shouldn't be a problem, hell I'll probably have the same color wire. An employee of mine gave me an extra 400watt no name PSU when I was diagnosing the other setup.
I'll order the sunbeam and the other tool just incase. Hell 30...
That's the problem...
My goal is to have a blacked out case, black everything that is very sleek, simple and well organized for future changes or mods.
I'm not into lights, bright colors, etc right now, I just want it sedate. Maybe watercooled in a few months, but for now I'll keep the...
Update... not a big one with anything fancy though. :o
Today I threw everything from my old case in the v1010. I have some atrocious wiring for now, and I believe I'll be splicing in a few pieces in the 8pin. The TX750's sleeving is horrible and I'll replace that as soon as some tools...
Arcygenical, thats a good idea... (I'm following because the interior is slightly similar to my case.
The HX would have been nice, but I bought a TX version on a whim, so I'm not too sure where to go from there. I *may* put it in the old box but I really hate to waste that much on a psu...
just a rebranded x2000 onsale at newegg for something like 599 or so. There is a decent thread about it here I believe, and at least 2 on xtremesystems.
Nice feet, I was just going to chuck the wheels up in the lathe and turn them down... but hell for 8 bucks I may just do that.. or would that be too easy?
Bumper tape?
picture or link would be nice.
I really do not think that would look good though. The sleeker the transition, the better IMO, especially on nicer cases.
How about having a thicker piece rounted around the edge to have a ledge, a little more than needed for the side panel (which you say is 3mm) and use a good double sided adhesive.
I'm thinking of doing this to mine, though I haven't ran it by my plastics or tape/adhesive guy. (for work I...
A Lian Li pc-v1000B would work its just under 20" in height and a bit shorter than 29". I haven't heard of any problems with video cards fitting, only fitting a large PSU that is non modular. A quick search should find you a couple places at or right near $200 USD.
Of course Lian Li has...
I like it... kinda.
I'm working on some sleeving and extra junk as of now. Only things that are case specific for now as everything else is in another case or pointless to work with.
The top media bay/usb/etc is driving me crazy. I can't decide if I want to sleeve those wires separately...
is that flat black or powdercoat?
It looks good!
I would swap the heatsink fan for black and maybe tuck the wires that are peaking out of the lower area 5.25 bays
The polished floor plate looks nice, and is tempting...
I have no idea what to name this, so for now it will be unnamed. I'll start this off with a few in progress pictures of the Lian Li PC-V1010 in pieces, a bit of wiring done but nowhere near completion. Parts will be shown next update more than likely.
I'll update this throughout the next...
I'll probably stick with it, I don't have another PCI card to use, only AGP. It's running at 56* right now and all I'm doing is browing the net and some pics off my camera.
But the case is open on the side for now (new one in the works) so I'm sure that has something to do with it.
I missed that one when I ordered my "stock" version.
Going to try the fan mod listed on the main page this week sometime. Haven't pushed the system on a game or anything really.
