FYI: UK THQ deal is dead/£30 now, but Greenman still works.

Steam 2011 Holiday Sale is here!!

I found it to be fun running through with a friend in co-op. That said, multiplayer is kinda buggy, and it uses garbage for windows live. Those are my biggest issues with it.

    Brink - $5 + Free Weekend

I unfortunately paid a higher price for it around release, and this was about as good an investment as Star Wars Galaxies collectors edition was. IMHO do yourself a favor and save the $5. Even better, just repeatedly punch yourself in the face for 5 minutes straight and burn a $5 bill...that...

Is Visual Basic A Waste of Time?

I wouldn't consider a class on it a waste of time. Even at a H.S. level it may be fairly introductory with no huge groundbreaking concepts, but if you think you might consider some kind of programming as a career then anything you do now will give you a leg up in college or professionally...

    AC Revelations PC delayed

Oh....I didn't even realize they were originally slated to come out at the same time. I just naturally figured it would be some time 6 months to a year after console release.

    Drakensang Bundle - on Impulse - 7.50

Generally the only titles that are sold elsewhere that activate on steam are steamworks titles. Matters not if steam sells it too. If its a non-steamworks title and you want it on steam, it must be bought on steam. Here's a list that shows steamworks titles for future reference...

Two Worlds II 50% off on steam, worth it?

I bought it last time it was for sale on steam and I'm pretty pleased with it. Personally I got way more than my money's worth out of it, and I primarily concentrated on multiplayer co-op with my significant other. Pros: - Fun dungeon crawl, can be quite challenging too. - Entertaining...

Netflix Continues to Receive Market Beat Down

I'm still with Netflix (for now), but quite simply they were getting more money out of me before. Now I get to pay them less (albeit for slightly less service, but I hardly used DVD by mail anyways), which is not so good for business. On another note his most recent apology letter just kind...

    Multiplayer Coop

Co-op still around. I just wish it was more popular than it is. Companies would surely sell me a lot more games. I guess I just prefer old fashioned teamwork with a friend or significant other, rather than l33t pvpz0ring someone's face in. I generally just follow www.co-optimus.com for my co-op...

Call of Duty Elite premium....$50 per year & montly DLC

Exactly, this is a good way to get me to stop visiting an establishment. I don't mind paying more for good food, but if they're gonna nickle and dime me just to be cheap tools then I'll generally just go elsewhere out of principle. These same principles apply to my gaming choices. IMHO they'll...

Deus Ex Human Revolutions $35 on amazon (Augmented $42) Instantly redeem on steam!

In for one as well. Thanks OP. Download is now going on Steam, and hopefully I enjoy it as much as most have. Edit: Also, if any of you with extreme bandwidth caps were wondering. The download is only ~8.5GB.

Can someone *please* code this program for me?

Hmm...with all this effort he is investing in trying to get others to do his work for him, you'd think it might be less effort to just do the original work. lol

Can someone *please* code this program for me?

This thread delivers......many lulz. Recognized that assignment as soon as I saw it, but then I was like "no way, no one can be that dumb". I stand corrected :( . You might have stood a remote chance in hell if you at least showed some work you did, and asked for our input. Latex

    Curiousity Question about Software Engineers

While dying can be a consequence with all bad programming, it is more likely on a hard real time system (i.e. the systems often used for critical aviation and medical). Not necessarily true with all real time systems though. That said...I've been working with a hard real time system for a...

CS major going into final year.....

It's been said once, and I'll say it again... in my opinion internships are probably one of the most important things you can do. If you don't get at least one done while you're in college you are seriously missing out. Employers will look upon you more favorably, you'll get a feel for how the...

    Next Assassin's Creed Revealed

I haven't been disappointed in any of the other AC games (except for the fact that they come out months later on pc), so i'm sure i'll enjoy this one just the same. I'm sad to see it end, but on the other hand... damnit quit stringing me along and tell me how the story ends! lol. Looking...

Sol Survivor awesome Tower Defense game 5 bucks STEAM

Love this game, awesome to play with friends in a room together. Personally I enjoyed it much more than Defense Grid, probably due to the multiplayer. At $5 (the usual sale price), it's a great value for your entertainment dollar.

    Programming lessons?

Doesn't sound like the statement of a person who's actually programmed in Java, sounds more like an end-user. But, I can see how an end-user might view it all as "bloat". However, not having programmed in it I feel that makes one unqualified to make a judgement on it's usefulness as a language...

Star Wars TOR for first MMORPG?

I dunno, I think you might be projecting your love of Mass Effect onto a game which will in the end not completely meet your expectations. As for your questions, this video might help to clarify some of them such as perspective and feel. To me it seems pretty much like WoW with some sci-fi...

Mortal Kombat - $29.99 @ TRU (in store next week w/coupon)

Just FYI that YMMV on the booklets. Many people were reporting going into Toys R' Us and asking the staff who had no clue what or where these booklets were. It's a great deal though so soon after release.

    Civilization V + Steam activation

No, not any game available on Steam. It has to be a SteamWorks title. For example, AssCreedBro is available on Steam, but you can NOT buy it elsewhere and try to enter your key on Steam. On the other hand, a game like say Homefront is a SteamWorks title, you can buy it anywhere and then put the...

    What is base raping?

Hidja kids, hidja wife, cause everybody gettin base-raped up in heah. Seriously though, there's just no sport involved in it. Sometimes it will happen accidentally if your team is pushing really hard, but you have to just not be a tool and give them some space. You can only shoot fish in a...

    SSD - Worth the Price

    Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood PC,XBOX,PS3 $27.00

It's a console game for sure, and the interface screams it. That said, I thought it was probably one of the better ports i've played recently with the exception of some early hiccups that were patched. As for easier to play I would venture to guess its just whatever you're most comfortable...

    Corsair A70 @ Best Buy

Picked one of these up at my BB a month back for $30. I use it on my 2500k and it is way better than stock. Very satisfied in that regard. Installation was not nearly as complicated as people whined. If you do pick this up though make sure it will actually fit in your case, mine required...

Put only some Steam games on SSD?

I've been using Steam Mover myself for a while now without any problems. Works great. From what I can see its pretty much the same as Steam Tool, so take your pick. Wish Steam would integrate this natively so we don't have to use other tools, but ehh I guess this works.

Is nobody playing the PC version of Brotherhood?

Played the multiplayer portion a little bit with a friend, but we had a lot of issues trying to play together so we gave it a rest. What I did get to play was quite fun, so i'm anxiously awaiting a patch of some sorts.

    The Secret World MMO

Probably one of my favorite skill systems ever used this method in Asheron's Call. Basically you just put points into individual stats or skills. EVE also uses this method, and Anarchy Online did to an extent but it still had classes. Also loved the use-based implementation in Ultima Online, but...

While trying to respect your request as much as possible to not turn this into AoC bashing, I feel that a company's reputation is very important. Hard to completely avoid it. Anyways, my comments regarding the 3 quoted items above... 1) Many of us have been around since Anarchy Online when...

Will Duke 4Ever have CoOp ?

So my idea for Duke Nukem co-op is that basically one player plays Duke, then all the other players play as strippers who must remain within X yards of Duke at all times or they die. The strippers also have one ability that is activated by hitting the spacebar. It's called "Shake It Baby". Okay...
