And, I'm glad I chatted instead of actually calling.
About the pointlessness... meh, if it's what she wants then it's what she wants. I know why and it's two apps that are available on Android and iOS that won't be on any feature phones. Contract renewal comes up in two months and I might be...
Just google "att imei sweep" and you'll find.. sometimes yes, sometimes no. I was seeing it mostly on the Blackberry results, but I'll just cough up the $180/year unless it's a sure thing. On the other hand, I'm thinking that something like the Miezu M9 that barely exists outside of China might...
My wife insists she needs a smartphone but uses zero, and I mean ZERO internet - no email, no web, no mms. If I were to pick up an unlocked Tmo Vibrant or similar and just totally disable data would I get by?
I'm not looking to get cheap unlimited data on the feature phone side, just no data...
owned? Did you even bother reading more than one post? I'm an Android user.
Also, Google Sync isn't mentioned in the docs of any phone that I'm aware of so saying "It's not any harder on Android. Plug in your phone and Google Sync asks" skips the steps of searching for how to sync your Outlook...
That's a bit of a cherry picked situation. Sure if you use gmail for your contacts, it works that way. However, if you use Outlook it's not even close but on the iphone you just plug it in and itunes hooks you right up.. bam, all your contacts on the phone.
I'm currently using an Android phone...
This is completely untrue. Even temp agency exams are sophisticated enough to allow for you to complete questions in the manner you described.
OTOH, this article seemed to me to be more about trying to steer you toward buying the provider's "licensed" study materials than about cheating.
I believe that TWC's boxes output via HDMI and component at the same time. Realistically, there'd be almost zero difference in the picture quality and you could get a set of component cables on the cheap.
If the guides are too complicated, MCEBuddy is supposed to make it pretty much automatic. You should be aware that, if you're recording on a cablecard setup, any protected content won't work.
The 360, despite the noise, is generally considered the best extender available. The forums at thegreenbutton.com are a pretty good source of info for all things media center.
I want to say that I have a copy of the original xbox media center disk around here somewhere. But 1, I'm not sure...
Just grab a cheapish i5 quad from the Dell outlet. They can be had for under $450 with patience and coupons. Toss in good storage drive for about $100 and stick the pc in a corner somewere, sans monitor since you'll be using Remote Desktop anyway. Add in a $100 refurbed xbox 360 arcade to use as...
http://www.engadget.com/2004/12/28/how-to-using-a-media-center-pc-through-your-xbox/ No support in Vista or 7
And what you're really going to need to do is find a cheap 360 arcade to use as an extender. It's totally worth it, they work great. I have an HTPC server setup with a Ceton InfiniTV...
I read somewhere that the Epic(Sprint's Galaxy S) doesn't have the GPS issue and that Samsung has acknowledged the problem. Given that, I think that a fix shouldn't be too far off.
edit: I saw the tatement from Samsung here.
SlideIt is a pretty nice Swype alternative(I prefer SlideIt)
Executive Assistant is easily my favorite but it caused significant hangs on both of our phones, ymmv
I'm really starting to dig Handcent SMS, especially the quick reply popup
3G Watchdog to keep track of our data, and shut it down if...
That's really weird. The 30PPI difference between 5" and 4.3" at 800 x 480 matters that much? Yet you chose to buy a phone at 230PPI when you could've gone with one at 330PPI. I guess there's no accounting for the things people will say or do.
Not at all, but we may as well carry the argument to it's logical conclusion and say that every phone that isn't an iphone 4 sucks balls and that anyone who makes a different choice is a tool. After all, no other phone comes anywhere close to its pixel density,
Had an ipad, loved it. But it didn't fit in a belt case to take with me anywhere, Since I also take a 6-year-old with me everywhere, not having to carry my tablet/reader really matters.
Oh, you may as well add Drops WiFi to the list. It doesn't happen to everyone, but it's an issue. My wife's suffers from the issue. Apparently they don't like some routers/access points, including those with dd-wrt which I use. It works well for what she needs, but if it was my phone it would've...
I'd factor the faster GPU and CPU into that $50 as well, not just the keyboard. Well, I'd actually count the physical keyboard as a mark against it since they make the phone too thick imho.
Hey, I'll be the first in line for a 5" device at 1280x1024(~330PPI) and I'm not arguing that the iphone 4's display isn't superior. It is. I'd even go so far as to say that ios as a platform is superior. Unfortunately the tiny form factor no longer fit my needs. For my needs 330PPI on 5.6...
Of course higher PPI is better. My point is that noone was having the discussion that anything less than 200 PPI was somehow unacceptable before the iphone 4. But using greater screen size to explain away why you can accept less than 100 PPI on a monitor then ignoring the increased screen size...
Wow, you resolution guys.. just wow.
The monitor you're staring at is probably somewhere around 130PPI but the streak is around 190PPI and it's too low because Apple told you so? That's awesome.
The wife and I are just switching to the Android platform from iphones but, seriously, from what I've seen over the last week Android apps lose on both quantity and quality.
edit: And I mean in a BIG way on both fronts. It's not even close. Including productivity apps.
The Galaxy S has a different name, and different features, on each carrier. Like the Sprint version, I think, has a front facing camera and the ATT version does not. That said, check out the benchmarks and/or comparison videos. If you're planning to play 3D games the Galaxy S is the obvious...
Visit modaco, streaksmart or xda and read several posts about people who "dropped it a foot on to the carpet" and ended up with undamaged Gorilla Glass but broken LCDs and wonder no longer.
QFT and, seriously, watching videos of people sliding a Streak into their pocket is hilarious - good luck not breaking it if you move afterward. BAM problem solved.
My Streak will be delivered Monday.
Droid X is IPS? Grr, if there was a GSM version I'd import it instead of waiting for the Streak. My wife, who never wants new electronics, saw the Captivate and her's will be here tomorrow.
I'm just making the switch to Android and am coming from a 3GS. If you think that jailbreaking is substantially different than rooting then you're a tool
Well, I'm mostly looking to trade. Which one were you looking for a price on?
edit: Thought about it. The Seagate is not for sale. It can be purchased brand new for $50. After shipping and Paypal, it's not worth it. The drive is only available as part of a trade. The Plantronics, I'd do $125...
I, and several other people, own a bluetooth headset and a hands free bluetooth connection in my truck. Holding it to my ear won't be a problem. What would be a problem would be moving down to a 4" or smaller screen - for MY purposes.
So, while I appreciate your concern for the appearance of...
