I to am having issues trying to set a refresh rate. Tried pretty much refresh rate tool and nothing seems to work. Occasionally it will auto set it, but its hit or miss.
I am currently in a new dilemma. I am in the market for a new LCD and would like to make a purchase in the next week or so. I can't decide which size or monitor to buy, there are so many options right now. First off, I use my computer for gaming, dvd viewing and soon to be pc-tv once I get...
Bought a GTX for $520 3 weeks and ago and didn't look back. Heck when I went to [H]'s main page today I saw the 2900 review and was like, "oh yeah, forgot today was the 14th". I've been having so much fun since this upgrade (past gpu was a 6800GT ) that I have completely neglected the...
I couldn't wait, I bought the 8800GTX . I've got to much time off to sit and wait for the R600 to show its face. Even though I may return my purchase if it does indeed beat the GTX handily.
That fact that there are DX10 games coming out within the year is enough to steer people in purchasing a better performing DX10 GPU, that is if the R600 is significantly faster in such environments. If ATI/AMD can prove that the R600 is significantly more 'future proof' than the G80 series...

Wondering what type production hardware they received to run these iffy benchmarks. Time will tell.
I totally agree. Why the hell would the 2900XT be a few frames faster on a quad cpu? Something just doesn't sit right. I also agree with alg7_munif regarding the date change. Apparently since the DT benchmark people flipped out and are already deciding on which card to choose. Maybe AMD...
ROFL...Uhh is the card even out yet? Do we have any definitive numbers on how this card is going to perform? Have some patience, May 14th is right around the corner.
Anyone get a feeling that both AMD/nvidia have reach some kind of hardware ceiling? I imagine they are both waiting on 65nm before they really start swining.
I know these have not quite been formally released yet, but I have seen a few vendors selling them. Anyone here have one of these boards and can comment on performance, stability etc?
Didn't this same crap happen around the time the R420 came out? I swear I remember seeing some false benchmarks before ATI's big release just to take the wind out of their "sales".
Depending on their initial supply why not? If they can launch with a decent lot I think it is a reality we should expect.
According to rumors it will have 2 connectors, a 6 pin and a 6pin/8pin. 2 6pin pcie will work, but if you want to OC you'll need the 8 pin. Remember 6pin(75W)...
I am also interested, is there an adaptor that is made for pcie, and not for the motherboard (12v 8pin)?
Edit: I came across a thread mentioning there 'should' be an 8 pin adaptor that comes with the cards. It converts 2 x 6pin pcie (75W each) into 1 x 8pin pcie (150W). Someone correct me if...
Again, I think you are basing this comment on OCUK's subjective review of the R600. And as it was previously noted, it may very well be the XT version and not the XTX. Who the hell knows how much faster the XTX will be than the XT. Does it really matter? If the XT is 100-150$ cheaper...
Wonder if there are several Nvidia employees hijacking this thread. Trying to settle the hype before ATI/AMD gets a chance to show what they have.
I would really like some info on how Antec PSU are so faulty at supplying the needed voltage for the VCs. So far you gave me a nice link on AMD/Intel power consumptions, something I already knew. It would be nice if evidence was provided when making statements such as yours. Anyone else have...
WTH is going on? I did exactly what you said regarding nvflash. D/led v442 and opened cmd, went into c:\bios and typed nvflash -b mybios.rom. It gives me the message
"NVIDIA Flash Rom Utility
Version 04.42
ERROR: PCI BIOS not present
NOTE: This program can only be run under DOS"...
I have Nvflash tool 5.1 and tried the same thing. Went to run - CMD - bios folder and typed "nvbios --save mybios.rom" and get the message "ERROR: PCI BIOS NOT PRESENT" "NOTE: THIS PROGRAM CAN ONLY BE RUN UNDER DOS". Anyone get the same thing? I also treid downloading a dos bootdisk and can't...
All 66s have problems with CS:S so keep that in mind to. They are displaying lines in the terrain at certain areas. The 65.72s seem to be good. What I don't like now that I went with Nvidia is that you haveto try 8 different version in order to get the best performance/stability. I miss the...
I bought my eVGA 6800GT about a month or more ago and experienced artifacts all over the screen. This has only happened twice, but the funny part was that these showed up while a screen saver was on and not during anything stressful. I restarted the computer (artifacts were there during...
