Is there any way to spin down hard drives when idle in Windows while using LSI 1068e or SAS2008 based cards?

Flashed my M1015 to the 9210 IT firmware and now it works on my Asus P8Z68-V Pro board. It didn't work while it had the 9240 firmware. Anyone know if I can run multiple M1015 on the same board?

Has anyone tried the LSI 9240-8i or IBM M1015 on any Z68 boards?

I was refreshing both the 64GB and 128GB. 128GB went back in stock for a few minutes. Lucky I was able to order.

Have you tried populating all 8 ports on the M1015? I had a weird issue as well when I only had one of the SAS ports connected to 4 drives in a 5 bay hotswap encolsure. It only saw 3 out the 4. But once I added all 8 drives it saw everything including all 4 in that enclosure.

I'm looking to get a new z68 board and planning to use a couple of IBM M1015 SAS HBAs with it. As they're known to be picky with motherboards I'd like to make sure before purchasing a specific model. Anybody test any z68 boards with LSI SAS2008 based controllers, specifically the IBM M1015?

Beware, these have a 30WHr battery which can not be replaced. I think some have said they only last a couple of hours, maybe 3-4 max.

Did you try combofix? I had it detect a virus (whistler bootkit) in a drives mbr. Only way I was able to fix it was going to system repair and running bootsec /fixmbr.
