I will be upgrading from my 13900ks to the upcoming Ryzen 9000 series. Hopefully a 9950x3d...I already have a motherboard for it assembled with a case and a PSU. Will just transfer my RAM and GPU from my current system and I am off to the races.

If you want "NOW" go with the Intel 14700/900K. If you can wait a few months, AMD will be releasing their series 9 CPU's later this year.

The $2500 I can def see. I am out at that point. I paid $1699 for my 4090 and was lucky. At some point I need to be cut off, and this will be it at that price entry point.

Yeah, we don't have any outside access to our network except for my VPN, which I never use anymore. All of our main stuff is in the cloud. And that media share is never backed up. There are only 4 teachers that even use it anymore.

It is not "Illegally shared" media. As a school, we have a ton of DVD's that we have purchased over the years and have been converted to MP4's. Same with all of our CD's. We use these to watch because we don't sign up for all the streaming services as they don't offer some of the stuff we use...
