Anyone have an idea on this terminal issue?
Here we go
Some users on our terminal have issues accessing websites. The main issue is with the site ingramicro.com. We can get to the site just fine at first however within a few minutes or hours the user will no longer be able to display the...

Best feature IMO. I cant count the number of times i wanted to stab what even engineer though it was a good idea to mount HDD'd directly into a case w/o easy access
Little background
Currently we are in the middle of a Exchange migration. We have 2 servers
Mail1.com
Mail2.com
We are migrating from mail1 to mail2. Currently about 1/3 the organazation is on the new server. We are only able to migrate a few hours a week,
Anyways, Mail2 is...
This needs to be this way for backup purposes. The VHD is a 2TB file. Currently when we try and back it up over the network it does two things. 1: takes well over 3 days and 2: choaks the network to where it's unusable. The reason being that this drive is full of x-ray files. 2.9 million to be...
I have a 2008 R2 server running in a hyper V session. The server has two drives.
1: OS and programs
2: Data only. Shares - No VSS snapshots, no backups, no installed programs, no page file, no system files at all!
I have been successful in shrinking the volume up until this point. We...
As title says.
I want to trade a sealed copy of world of warcraft wrath of the litch king collectors edition.
I am looking for the following
A server case with room for atleast 8-12 drives.
Something with hot swap bays.
or something similar to Lian Li's PC-A17B case if not that...
i sent in my 150GB raptor with 3 years left on it and got a 300GB enterprise drive back.
But with only 5 months left.
I bitched them out and they gave me a full 5 years on the RMA'd 300GB drive. LOL :D
SATA is hot swap.
Just plug the drive in and leave the cable from the board to the drive unplugged from the drive.
Then when your booted in win7 pro. Plug the Sata cable back into the drive.
Wa la
Is their a way to set permissions in windows so that a user can have the ability to modify a file but not straight out delete the file?
I know i can in linux.
Not true. Malwarebytes will pickup most of todays spyware and picks up all of the fake virus alerts from what i've seen. However most of them will not allow you to install or run the program. They will kill the process.
You must kill the fake antivirus first then run the program
Download and run this
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Antivirus/Remove-Fake-Antivirus.shtml
Then download and run this

Just cleaned that same infection on a clients PC yesterday with those two tools
Is 2008 R2 better then WHS?
I know i will have more options with 2008 R2 like setting up AD, Installing Exchange on it and such but what are the downfalls / advantages of having one over the other.
Im putting together a .ZIP for our engineers out in the field to put on their pen drives so they will have a mobile hit squad of tools to take care of most malware / virus infections on the spot.
So far i have this.
Malware - Combofix, Malwarebytes, Spybot, SmitfraudFix, Prevx, RUbotted...
No go on safe mode with command promt. Regular safe mode works. Command prompt blue screens.
So far i have used. Symantec Endpoint, Nod32, Malware Bytes, SPS&D, and Prevx
I have a client that droped off his laptop. I've been working at it for about a day now. He came in complaining about some virus and said he wanted it cleaned off. No reformat. He was very adamit about that.
So here is the situation.
I took the drive out and scanned it with mine. Removed...
Sorry i cant post a real pic. I hope it still counts. Our data center is under level 3 security.
Scan a badge + finger prints + pass a guard to get in. No pictures are allowed to be takin inside. Lots of rules to follow. :(
Any ways we had to set this up last night
I'm using an onboard intel raid controller.
Building a new array is hard. I would either have to 1. Buy and build a whole nother box. Or 2 buy a raid controller card setup the raid on that.
Either way ends up costing me money
Maybe ill just bring my box to work. We have a 150TB san...
Moving from 1 raid controller to another you are usually hosed in terms of saving data or anything for a drive.
Just make 3 folders on your new drive and put all the data from each partition in each one of the folders.
Can you expand a raid 5 array in the following way?
Say i had 4 1TB drives that i want to upgrade to 2TB drives.
[1]-[1]-[1]-[1]
Could i add a 2TB drive
[2]-[1]-[1]-[1] ( Rebuild array)
Then continue doing that
[2]-[2]-[1]-[1] ( Rebuild array)
[2]-[2]-[2]-[1] ( Rebuild...
Think of a sas expander like this. You want a 128 drive array. So you would do this.
Super expensive sas card. ( Buy cheap and thats what you get )
Next you have a case with 48 drives in it and a sas expander card. The card does nothing but connect to the drives and pass data.
You...
Yes it would see each drive as a separate drive or you can raid them into 1 drive.
1 sas card with 2 connectors can connect 8-10 SATA drives.
We have some enterprise SAS cards here at work with 8 SAS ports. Gotta love servers humming away with 36+ drives
Not true. We have drive here where i work. I have one right infront of me that is a SATA drive and it is not hot swapable. The drive itself comes in two flavors. Hot swapable and non hot swapable.
Your fine, Let your raid array rebuild.
It needs to rebuild because it is degraded.
Your raid array will check the parrity on the drives and rebuild your data like this never happened.
"initialize" is a good thing. When it says that it's asking you if you want to turn the raid array...
I've had the same dremel for over 5 years now. I would say i put an easy 200+ hours on the the thing. Its the simple 2 speed version. OFF - FAST!!!!
I love it. Does the job and i got it for $18 :D
