Seconded - I ran mine on my i5-4760 (HD4600?) for a week or two on HDMI before my new displayport cable came in to run off my GPU.

I also didn't have a DP cable on hand so I borrowed one from our IT depot. The cable was included with some cheap monitors they had. It didn't work and caused my system to act like there was an electrical short. Turns out it has a "pin 20" displayport issue that non-vesa certified cables may...

After doing some googling I found that my issue was a non-compliant displayport cable that had pin 20 connected. The connection introduced a feedback that the power supply recognized as a problem and shut down the computer. Received an Accell cable today and tested it. The 5850 outputs...

Check it out at a Microcenter if you have one near you. It definitely feels a little less "immersive". But not having bezels and getting rid of half a dozen cables under the desk feels great!
