Looks like there is either no reverse DNS (PTR record) for the IP, or that the PTR differs from that of its hostname.
To fix it you need to find who controls the in-addr.arpa zone specific to that IP, and have them update their DNS record.
If you want exchange to not perform that lookup I'm...
Look at the output of dmesg, and you should be able to tell id smp is enable or not.
There should be 2 lines showing they are detected
processor #0 some processor info
processor #1 some processor info
Then there should be 2 lines that say,
Initializing cpu0
and
initializing cpu1
if only...
Excel is fine if you have a limited number of servers, not a lot of changes, and only one person(or maybe a small group) that keeps track of it.
Excel does not scale into larger environments.
Lucent's QIP is expensive, and most likely offers way more than what is needed in this case.
I...
It's easy to utilize 100 servers in email alone depending on the quantity of messages, and users. Each step in the email process can, and is put on dedicated servers when traffic needs require it. For example separate incoming, and outgoing MTAs, queue servers, POP servers, DNS servers...
I would suggest first getting a test box and installing Linux on it. As far as what distro, try to stay with the larger ones for support reasons when you run into problems.
Personally I prefer Debian, however because you seem to be looking at it from a career perspective I would say try...
Check the output of the command 'dmesg | grep hd' and make sure the your drives show up, and post the output if you can.
To get them to stay mounted you need to add the relevant entries into /etc/fstab once you have a file system laid out on the drives.
First check dmesg, and make sure...
To stick your tower in a server rack, seeing how it doesn't have rails you would need a shelf, and then lay it down on its side. You are looking at taking up 4 rack units. They are going to charge your for every "U" that you use, and may even have an extra charge for providing you a shelf if...
As far as I know it is going to depend on how they have their provisioning system setup in your area. I'm guessing that they have regional LDAP servers, or something similar that has your modem info on it. As long as you move to a area that uses the same LDAP/DHCP servers I think it should work...
I use VoicePulse's "connect" service. They support both IAX2, and SIP, and are very Asterisk friendly.
I have used them for about 2 years, and have been very happy so far.

I believe it costs $11 a month for a phone number, and you get free incoming calls...
"IT" is not a instant money maker. Personally I don't think it matters if you go to a community college, Harvard, IIT, Devry or any other institution.
Think about this question,
What can you do for me?
You might think "Well that depends"
What am I ?
I can be a ISP in need of a a...
I would try to update the routers firmware.
My guess is you are looking at a heavily populated page and it is causing the router to dump because there are so many connections going through it.
This could be from a persons profile that has tons images, video, and audio all being downloaded...
Well for some reason your computer made a connection to this server.
If you didn't do it, then there is something on your computer that did. Someone could be using it as a way to transfer files by downloading them from that pop server to your computer.
Might want to get a packet sniffer...
If you do a ipconfig /all it will show the DHCP server. When it has the wrong DNS make sure it has the correct DHCP servers IP.
Thats easier than looking at the configs on a bunch of devices.
If the server itself is doing it I'm not quite sure unless there is a config error on it.
Those services guess the location. Comcast may have used your current subnet in Kansas at some time, and recently moved it to Florida. speedtest.net may still think it is in Kansas, and might just take time for them to update.
Try some of the other IP locater sites, and see if they report...
I don't see how is is possible in most cases. Perhaps if you have a system where the CPU is pegged at 98 - 100% to begin with, then you might get some benefit by having the network card handle some of the packet processing to alleviate some of the systems CPU cycles.
If that were the case...
What are you actually seeing? My guess is that it is a zombie host trying to propagate itself.
nslookup
whois
If you have a any Unix experience you could use Snort. That will most likely be a lot cheaper than purchasing a appliance.
Then how did they guess 8 out of 10 passwords...
pgrep processname
Or what I think you are looking for, check out the variable "$$"
[gert@Roost ~]$ echo $$
1011
[gert@Roost ~]$
1011 being the PID number.
Enforce strong passwords.
Lock accounts on 3 - 5 failed login attempts.
Make sure any routers/switches/printers don't have default, or easy passwords.
Turn off unnecessary services on all hosts. Especially any ones directly exposed to outside traffic.
Secure the computers that are...
You don't really need to register your DNS server. You do however need to tell the registrar what NS servers are authoritative for the domain.
Other than that its editing 2 files once you have bind running.
In named.conf you create a zone statement for the domain.
zone "domain.com" {...
The only steps you should have to take when hooking up a new device is to.
1.) Power down modem, and router.
2.) Turn on modem, and wait till it gets sync, then power up the router.
There is no need to clone macs on Adelphia's network.
Seeing how thats not working, could it be...
I have just a normal Asterisk install with a sip phone, voicemmail etc... Still trying to get used to the configs, and most of the terminology. From never having touched any telco equipment it can be a bit daunting at times.
A little bit of an update from the last time with a few more things. A hub between the modem, and router that has a Snort IDS sensor on it, and a VoIP phone that connects using Asterisk. There is also a Cisco 350 WAP that is not seen in the picture.
Yea I currently need to spread the load by running an extension cord from downstairs otherwise the circuit gets tripped. I dont think I'm actually at 2,000 now, maybe 1,500 or so. I'm just using that number so I have a little room for any new equipment that may be added in the future..
Its...
I was guessing there would be issues like that, but I'm obviously not all that knowledgeable when it comes to this sort of thing. Thanks for the info by the way. I am more concerned about high load capacity for a few minutes than longer runtimes. I'm guessing with everything on at once I would...
I was thinking about getting a UPS, but most all of the ones I am interested in have a L5-30P input connector.
I do not have any L5-30R outlets where my equipment is located. So I was wondering is if there are conversion kits or adapters that will allow me to plug a L5-30R into a 5-15R outlet...
Is there a firewall installed on the computer? You could try to disable it. You could try to reinstall ethernet cards drivers. What if you assign your IP settings statically, can you get online that way?
What you have setup now is pretty good, and unless one of your trusted hosts gets compromised you should be fine.
You could look into chrooting sshd in case that were to happen this would provide some local security on the server. Also make sure you keep the system patched. Maybe setting up...
I'm not sure of the website you are talking about, however if you have a web server, and have access to the logs you could get his IP faily easily if you can get him to view a image hosted on that server. However if he is using a proxy server it won't be of much use.
So if this guy has access...
A couple options. You could set a static IP that is not in the DHCP pools range of IPs that it hands out. I think you would be safe with anything from 192.168.1.2 - 192.168.1.99.
Or if you only have a few devices you could set it to a IP thats in the range of IPs that your router hands out...
I have used Samba to stream music, and videos to both Windows and Unix hosts with no problems with large (1 -2 gig) files . As long as you don't have a piss poor network connection, and there is no bad IO bottleneck it should be fine.
I would say you are most likely safe.
That sending MTA is listed on a couple RBLs..
http://rbls.org/?q=151.204.108.2..
One in particular says that MTA has been used for "Illegal 3rd party exploits, including proxies, worms and trojan exploits"
So I would say they just spoofed the...
