The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Oh, I didn't realize that. Was so disappointed. Thanks. I guess I will be selling off my current monitor after all.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

AW 3225QF "Curved screen pulls players..." and I'm out. They literally tripped over themselves, right before the finish line. Amazing...the wait continues...and they were sooo close...amazing fail. Just...amazing...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Did you turn the Max Brightness option "On"? The monitor is unusable without it. The monitor still requires increasing brightness and contrast in in Nvidia control panel for a bright HDR experience. I am not exactly blown away by the monitor, but having tried out the Samsung Neo G7 and the LG...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

The newest firmware has the Acer X32 FP automatically switch to HDR mode, on HDR input. Also, now you can always disable the Overdrive completely, since the option has been unlocked, where previously it was locked in some circumstances. The auto-dimming is still manual though.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Playing around with Acer X32 FP... In Nvidia Control Panel, shift brightness to 70%, but contrast to 90% - 100%. HDR mode "On" in Windows and monitor. Local Dimming to "Fast". Play the usual YouTube video "2020 LG OLED l The Black 4K HDR 60fps". Looks pretty amazing and the FALD "falls apart"...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

You know what? In the end I've decided to keep the Acer X32 FP running with HDR and Fast Local Dimming all the time. I also left the Windows HDR permanently on. Unlike the Neo G7, this actually works good and doesn't look washed out in Windows 11 while browsing etc. You can fine tune i.e...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

My first requirement is for monitor to be excellent for work, since that’s how I pay for it and, you know, eat. My 2nd requirement is for it to be also as good for gaming as it could possibly be. My 3rd one is not to be insanely expensive. This monitor simply ticks those boxes, more than any...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I don't think anyone would consider this an issue, since you are supposed to use the adaptive dimming only while gaming. The point is to get more contrast in games, which will give you more realistic i.e. immersive experience. It's really not needed for work. I mean, people even complain about...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I just got mine. Can confirm everything people wrote here about the X32 FP. I can compare it to Samsung Neo G7 I returned, and I can only say, that unlike the Neo G7, I won't be returning this one. Don't have a lot of time to check the monitor out in detail, but the panel seems very good and has...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

No, the monitors we discuss here are hobbyist, because they require a lot of fiddling to get some core features like HDR, local dimming and VRR running correctly. On the other hand, these OLEDs are more-or-less plug and play and look great without all the fiddling. Yes, I am following the...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I think it's pretty clear, that 32" 4k IPS high refresh FALD HDR screens are for "monitor hobbyists" only. Which is why I am certain, even though I just bought such an IPS, OLEDs will ultimately trample all over this mini-LED tech. As a point of comparison, in my country, Acer X32 FP currently...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Acer just posted a 20% discount in my country, so I just ordered an X32 FP as well from Acer store. Asus is just so obnoxiously slow and secretive about their release date, they pissed me off too much already.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Yes, but the text clarity/fringing is not an issue for gaming, just for productivity, and productivity i.e. staring at a lot of text all day long, is what scaling makes a much nicer experience of. If you'll allow me just a small off-topic note about the Neo G7 1000R curve...It doesn't look like...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Most of the time, I was pixel peeping from like 1 ft (cca 30cm), but I did try to look from a couple of feet away too, as far as I could go, and actually read the text comfortably. IDK, the sample still looked bad to me personally (without any scaling applied). But with scaling (at least 1440p)...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Yeah, I am waiting for some major reseller in my country, with a decent return policy to offer one before I pull the trigger myself...or for Asus to offer their spin on the same panel later this year. Whichever comes first.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

OK, since you took the time to explain everything so nicely, for the first time, I hooked up my MacBook M1 Pro 16" over HDMI to my Sony A95K 65" 4k QD-OLED. I guess Mac OS could make a big difference or even break your test, but "for science", I've selected 4k resolution, no scaling, full...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I don't think anyone would drop around $1800 on a rumor that a monitor which recieved terrible reviews, just might be good now, IF you happened to get this years model, which is out of your control anyway.

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

Really? Because the Acer X32 FP and panel in particular got glowing reviews, biggest issues being unpolished and fiddly HDR activation and overshoot, something Asus possibly addressed.

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

BTW does anyone have "Dark Mode" text clarity examples as well? I see that is being ignored most of the time, even though many of us use Dark Mode(s) almost exclusively. I've seen it myself on this AW model and it's even worse then black text on white. Text fringing is so horrific in Dark Mode...

    Dell Alienware AW3423DW 34″ QD-OLED 175Hz (3440 x 1440)

Out of curiousity, I've Airplayed this image to my 65" 4k Sony A95K QD-OLED and it all looks like a trainwreck to me lol. Insignificant improvements in text fringing, so might as well go with the default.

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

I don't think ASUS is even making the PG Where did you get that "soon" from? I saw the other day ASUS representative on Reddit write, "Our model PG32UQXR is coming, wait for it" as an answer to a question about which 4k 32" mini-LED model to get, but they refused to give even a rough date...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

Horrible EOTF tracking? Anyway, correct me if I am wrong, but overdrive setup and unnecessary fiddling with options to enable HDR is an Acer-specific problem. I mean, the old ASUS monitor has its fair share of issues, the biggest one being it's extremely slow and lots of blooming, but most of...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

Probably this year and it is ASUS PG32UQXR. DisplayNinja link. It looks like the same panel as in the current Acer Predator X32 FP. It should be what we are waiting for here to replace this extremely expensive and outdated model, with the exception of the zone count. However, even with half the...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

In any case, there needs to be an affordable $1500 max, faster version of this Asus, without GSync Ultimate which is dead anyway, and with modern connectivity options like USB-C and HDMI 2.1. Otherwise this tech will get trampled by OLEDs.

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

No, I am talking about Asus PG32UQX. It's not being sold at any major retailer in Germany and around, and if you can find it somewhere, it's between $4000 and $5000. It isn't even worth $2200 at this point, so it doesn't matter really. It might not even exist for all intents and purposes. The...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

It might not make sense right now, just for productivity, but even that is going to change in time. We already have a massive amount of smartphones with high-res OLEDs and very little burn-in reported. Besides, you might also get a FALD with a dead pixel or two, which is sometimes not enough for...

    PG32UQX - ASUS 32" 4K 144 Hz HDR1400 G-Sync Ultimate

OLEDs are now omni-present, from toothbrushes, to smartphones, monitors and TVs. The technology is getting constantly improved, people are excited about it and, most importantly, they are selling like hotcakes. At the same time, mini-LED is a niche and extremely expensive technology which is...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Here in (western) Europe, Acer Predator X32FP currently seems like a no brainer 32" FALD for work and play. Here's why: Asus PG32UQX: $4000, hard to find, slow outdated screen, no powered USB-C for work. ViewSonic XG321UG: $3500, same outdated screen, no USB-C. Innocn 32MV2: price unknown, not...
