The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

None of these OLED monitors will survive beyond 3 years of heavy desktop use. You can see how the OLED's are faring here: https://www.rtings.com/tv/tests/longevity-burn-in-test-updates-and-results S95C has shown no burn in after 10 months/6000 hours. By the 2 year mark I'm anticipating it...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Yeah I owned the MSI QD-OLED. Great motion clarity but looked like garbage to me in most HDR content. The first time I launched an HDR game I went in the OSD to see if maybe brightness was at like 20% and then realized that's all it was really capable of. The reason I stick with the PG32UQX is...

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I also think the LG is by far the best design. It has no chin and looks super clean. If you're someone who is anti monitor arm the stand is also really unintrusive.

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

Majority of monitors KVM functionality are trash. I think people should keep expectations in check when buying a display designed for media/gaming consumption that happens to have KVM. Sorry if that comes off harsh but I'm just getting tired about hearing about all of these monitors KVM...

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

Yeah it works if you manually power off when changing the power button setting. I had the same issue.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I always use Alan Wake II as my VRR flicker test. That opening section really demonstrates it well even with crazy hardware. Yeah I don't really think this monitor is worth anywhere near $1300. It will eventually settle at around $1000 with deals lowering it which I think is more appropriate...

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

Might be because the WOLEDs are paired with a variety of Tcons where as the QD-OLEDs use the one Samsung provides.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I had friends trying everything to make the codes stack earlier today but I think they killed it a long while ago.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I think Asus will for sure push the panel harder. They've done so with every WOLED model vs it's LG variant. It will also come much better calibrated out the box. The 2 deterrents are Asus firmware issues and the fact that it will probably land at $1499. Asus flagship monitors typically don't...

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

People have been having issues applying it all morning while it works for others no problem. Try different zip codes. Edit: I think the code is now dead.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

Yeah the 20% applies when 2 additional items are added. HDMI cable + $20 wireless mouse. Like all these promo stacking deals, act fast because it will stop working soon since there is no way it was suppose to work on this monitor.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

I wish there was an affordable Spectro to use alongside all of the relatively cheap colorimeters. Seems like the only option is spending $1500 from what I've seen.

    LG 32GS95UE – OLED 31.5″ with 4K @ 240Hz and 1080p @ 480Hz Support - The death knell of LCD panels

Heads up to those in the USA. You can add 2 extra cheapo items to your cart like cables/etc to get an additional 20% off on top of the 15% promo code that was posted in this thread (HECAxxxxx - use your zip code). Also Topcashback is giving 12%. Total cost pretax comes out to $850ish. Edit: if...

I just tried this and do not see any yellowing on the edges.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I dunno if it really makes any difference in actual content. It still clips at right around 1600nits in the HDRCalibration app and highlights look incredibly bright in games.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I leave HDR on 24/7 which is one of the benefits of this monitor since so few handle HDR on the desktop well. With RTX HDR and the SDR to HDR video enhancement from Nvidia, it's too inconvenient to swap back and forth based on the content I'm consuming.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I don't personally turn it off on the desktop because its not really intrusive enough to do so. Its not like Samsung FALD on the desktop that dims the cursor and adjacent zones around windows making the entire desktop look oddly cloudy. This monitor just looks like a normal IPS most of the time...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I remember people posting about the left and right turning orange under certain conditions but I can't remember how to recreate it. If does lemme know and I'll try.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

There was definitely some stealth firmware updates at some point in production. This late 2023 produced one I have looks dimmer in super high APL stuff (previous one was blinding at times) and there is some strange ABL that can be recreated in the 3rd slider of the Windows HDR calibration app...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

PPI is still PPI. DLDSR will help improve a games picture quality but the pixels are still huge.

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

I did see horizontal white line flashes on mine at random when I had it. Was mostly in the left top corner. Just attributed it to some DSC issue since it was so infrequent and random.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Not exactly 1 to 1 but you can see that the pixel response has been cleaned up quite a bit since the launch version. Techspot on the left, my monitor on the right. The biggest give away which isn't super visible in my ghetto phone camera tracking shot is that all 3 UFOs demonstrate some inverse...

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

I finally got a hold of another PG32UQX (sold mine for $950 bought one locally for $750 lol). Man was I dumb to sell it. Nothing beats this thing IMO. This time even if something better comes along I'm just going to throw it in a closet like its a CRT.

What I would do for a larger format version of these new 27's.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Yeah I have the same thinking. Most I ever see in the games I play is 160FPS. Having 240hz really only benefits me on the desktop and some random indie title that can run on a potato.

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Damn man you'd really take the 240 to 144hz hit that easy. I think it's the QD-OLED's biggest selling point. I wonder what the state of the PG42UQ is now. It will still be brighter than the C4 (basically 2x as bright in content on 10% window vs QD-OLED) and only down 6hz while avoiding all the...

    ASUS Rog Swift 32 inch PG32UCDM with 31.5″ QD-OLED Panel, 4K 240hz

Nah I think there is a pretty significant difference between the two in terms of grey which is most noticeable in my opinion. Its what made the PG42UQ look super contrasty and generally worse next to the 42C2 especially with dark detail.

    Acer Predator Z57 57" 7680x2160 mini-LED @ 120hz

Pretty sure this and any other version that comes along is limited to 120hz because Samsung has some exclusivity deal with TCL and got dibs on marketing and implementing it as 240hz. Everyone else that gets supplied a panel will have to offer it in a less attractive package as seen by Acers...

    Acer Predator Z57 57" 7680x2160 mini-LED @ 120hz

This seems to be using its own backlight implementation because the zone count is slightly lower (2304 vs 2394). It could be a good thing.
  30. S

    ASUS Rog Swift 32 inch PG32UCDM with 31.5″ QD-OLED Panel, 4K 240hz

This demonstrates when the HDR400 mode is significantly brighter than the HDR1000 mode. Also, I trust this guys EOTF measurements vs HWUnboxed. This tracks consistently with all other Asus OLED's in that it is too dark down low and over brightened up top which I think is something Asus does...

4K 27" Mini-LED with good local dimming and 144+ Hz refresh rate?

Let's see what it does in actual content. All these modern FALDs blown up test patterns but that same 5-10% highlight in real content gets no where as bright. KTC M32P10 is a great example.

The 32 inch 4k IPS 144hz's...(Update - this party is started) (wait for it...)

Every PG32UQX on eBay is on the verge of warranty ending. I think I've just settled on having to buy new at this point.
  33. S

    42" OLED MASTER THREAD

Looks like it will match the PG42UQ then because it always had that brightness in reserve, LG was just conservative.

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

Its actually not the first time I've heard this happening with the monitor. There are quite a few others who experienced the same thing of it just randomly shutting down mid game with no prompt about the forced panel refresh or anything.

    MSI QD-OLED Monitors 2024

Best Buy isn't going to help you with that. If it were maybe a week after the return window they would make an exception but in this case they'll tell you to use the manufacturer warranty. MSI offers advanced replacement FYI (they send you a replacement first) but it's usually not available for...

    Samsung Odyssey Neo G9 57" 7680x2160 super ultrawide (mini-LED)

Yeah but it's goofy. With a 4090 to get 4K/240 you need to set the OSD to 240hz which drops the monitors native res to 60hz so you'd have to switch the monitor back to 120hz in its OSD to unlock 7680x2160/120 again. For me the OSD dance wasn't worth the hassle so I never used 4K/240.
