what kind power restriction have 200 series firmware? have you detailed information? because i know there are more restriction in UE about power, for example innocn and ktc miniled cant be directly selled due UE power restrictions, but are ok in USA
because you do ips vs ips, not ips miniled 1152zones vs ips miniled 512zones lol
why i need to spend 3000dollars and disable the main tech behind it and do a no sense vs lol
maybe if were possible disable per pixel oled light maybe you would do it and then put against a normal lcd backlight...
last image is impressive, the black crash because the limited oled range ^^'
last time from my local store i have see the last lg oled and i have asked if hdr was on, was like my sdr image lol XD
dolby is always grayed like your second image, in your first image is on because you have connected a dolby stream or what ?
sorry last image is by james ^^'
so i dont know how i can enable it, maybe dont work on ucx...strange
here hdr on (windows), here you can select dolby and hlg?
here hdr off, here you can select all option too? you can make me a screenshot with windows hdr off and all option selectable?
yes i have MCM105 firmware, there is only an update mcm106 with this fix
For Global SKU(Except North America)
Improvement:
1. Solve abnormal brightness problem when turn on HDR_Dolby Vision.
but i dont think is this the problem :)
the mcm106 on ucg enable the dolby vision...so i think wasn't...
my dolby vision and hlg is grayed, i can't select from monitor
hdr pq dci and hdr pq bt2020 are grayed too but when i active hdr on window or from game or from powerdvd movie are enabled, but dolby and hlg are always grayed
https://www.asus.com/support/FAQ/1043549/
only hdmi maybe, but i...
i have ucx, it support dolby vision, for example mass effect andromeda support dolby vision ingame, but i cant enable it because windows dont support it...maybe on mac?
do you have tried the callisto protocol hdr maybe? is the only game maybe or a rare case where hdr is washed :/, i have the pa32ucx if you remember ^^'
if i boost hdr bright slider get better but i feel like i lost the dark atmosphere.
if i have a image with 2different nit points i can't see it correctly in sdr
example
sky at 500nit and shadow with 50nit, if i set monitor to 500nit sdr to match sky but i'll miss the 50nit area, with hdr i can match both area with correct nits (for this hdr have locked brightness)
both have the same panel, reduce blooming=reduce highlight peak...so you can't have a win to win...if you prefer avoid bloom (only in specific cases) get a oled, but you lost the brightness hdr and other things like colour space, accurate colors (vs wrgb oled) etc... if you get a oled, take a...
really without joke, like said from agentanon is the better you can buy with this price (im speaking from pa32ucx not uqx...but is the same miniled tech 1152zones, 2.5auoptronics panel 60hz vs 2.6 120+hz). better there are only 30k+ dollars dual cell professional. and maybe the only oled where...
in real life i dont see monitor from side...i see it on frontview, blooming is much more visible from side, oco layer is for this on ucg or pk. much situations have always zero bloom on frontview and bloom from side.
all real owner of miniled display know this :)
yes 32ep950 is the only choose if you can't stay with fald limits. have 350nit on fullscreen sustained and 500 on 50%, for example new evo oled do only 200nit full sustained or less. then 32ep950 is a true rgb oled, major drawback are burnin and 60hz
if fald isnt a problem for you, u can use clickmonitor to quickchange brightness/contrast...anyway contrast with fald is top and i never put fald-off on my pa32ucx and contrast too is already calibrated, i need only to change brightness with a mouse roll on clickmonitor icon.
yep of course you can calibrate it and get nice results but lost yet more brightness when you want do get d65 temp, because this is the drawback of blue backlight. and again the main difference on colours va vs ips remain.
anyway we speaking about big tv panel...we have others drawbacks...like...
i have tried alot samsung tv, last was q95t was with only 120zones and with big halos, the new Neo are miniled with 576zones to 792zones on big model...but there are always the same problems, u can see maybe less bloom but for 2 reasons.
1 - The fald algorithm give priority to dark zone so him...
lol, again... oco layer minimize bloom from ANGLE, i have tested both pa32ucx-k and pa32ucx-pk and on front side are the same, the difference are from angle...and asus advertising is all about this "5x more constrast and -80%bloom from ANGLE"
so no magic can you rid from bloom on fald atm...
this panel on viewsonic asus acer version have gsync ultimate and for this reason there isnt hdmi2.1...ucg is vrr with 2.1
ps. 4k 120fps with console is a joke (native rendering can be 1080p at 120fps), i have 3080 and is already hard catch 4k 60 :)
exactly, plus you got hdr highlights sustained fullscreen brightness 1000+nits and this make the real difference on bright hdr scenes, colour volume too bt2020 85%+ is another plus
lol, i have no halo on pa32ucx on this scene (0:04sec) but i can't do photo with my phone without halo and of course you can't shot hdr highlight brightness for comparison
again i can confirm on this scene 0:04sec on my pa32ucx in hdr i see 0 halos and nice contrast in real and in frontview...always in this video if i go ahead there are scenes with halos of course.
i remember when i have tried comparison with 2display hdr both 4k with w10 was impossible do hdr on both. then i remember i have tried to google it too confirm this. so i don't think was both hdr with 1pc
