I still have my old(2015) GTX Titan X (Maxwell, ~ 980 ti with 12 GB VRAM) and not sure what to use in my next PC build: cheap used GTX 1080 ti or new (expensive) RTX 2080 ti. Initially I wanted to double my FPS (1440p, later maybe 4K), but GP102 is only +50-60% - that's why I skipped it...
Strange is that your results show even some dx11 min/avg fps scaling with more threads, but no dx12/dxr scaling. While Dx12 is supposed to be the api to better utilize cores/threads in general. Maybe bf5 engine dx12 code is so poor and is the root cause of all the problems? Maybe more patches...
Thanks, now it seems to be clear that more threads not help with dx12/dxr. But what happened to cpu/gpu load on your 9900K? Is it going to be lower than on 7700K: some threads just not used? GPU load with 'DXR on' is always about 100%? MIN fps is at 100% loaded gpu and not loaded CPU? Is dxr...
