Good call, but a bit too late. Does Microsoft feel threatened, to make such desperate moves?
And no, no one is going to delete their W7 just because Microsoft stopped updating it. Most people have blocked updates anyway.
The game has a horrible story and really crappy renders. Hopefully it was removed from Steam just because it's a bad game. Though now Steam has to follow and remove the other million crappy games too.
You don't progress that way, you stagnate. Sometimes 99.99% of the people might believe in something which is false. History is full of examples. Or do you believe we've reached the point where we know everything?
I despise any form of censorship, no matter the target. Censoring someone, just because you disagree with what he says, is wrong. There will be no progress if we shut up everyone who thinks differently from us.
I watched the video of Matt Watson and this person is just sick. He finds little girls sexy when they are not doing anything sexual, just doing normal child stuff. He creates a problem out of nothing. This isn't child porn, there isn't a "soft-core pedophilia ring", there isn't anything even...
I doubt there are many people left in Valve who know how to make a good FPS. So the most likely scenario if they make HL3 is they'll invest a ton of money and it'll flop. I bet the new generation of gamers don't even know what Half Life is anyway, so their only market will be old people and...
Unless someone gets really pissed and either sues them for fraud or makes plenty of noise online and generates lots of negative press about the developer. Looking at how incompetent that company seems recently I doubt their auto-banning software is any better.
And how are they supposed to win marketshare otherwise? Lazy people will keep buying from Steam and will support the monopoly. They have to offer plenty of exclusives and free offers and bundles and everything they can to get a foothold in this marketplace.
In other news - USA hackers are targeting Russian military contractors, Russian hackers are targeting Chinese military contractors and all of them are targeting European military contractors.
Slow news day?
There's an old saying: The only thing worse than a government monopoly is a private monopoly. The only reason people are happy about choosing the former is because the alternative is even worse. But as every government service - it starts with a great promise, then gradually the quality...
While I hate your policy of using only Steam, I understand there are plenty of people like you. Unfortunately such policies guarantee Steam's monopoly on the market. What's more, what you're proposing cannot happen. Steam only allows games on its platform on the condition that the game cannot be...
This is about the US military though, not about the good guys.
"Microsoft is "going to provide the U.S. military with access to the best technology ... all the technology we create."
So, not the best actually.
It's going to be extremely beneficial to businesses, who will be able to run their ERP software through their browser anywhere on any pc, phone or tablet. Just because something isn't beneficial to you doesn't mean someone else can't use it. Kudos to Google and Mozilla if they manage to do it.
You're putting words in my mouth. I certainly hope most people here are not newbies and understand how things work. But chasing perfect security is a pipe dream. You will never have perfectly safe software with no exploits. As a matter of fact the chase of security at all costs has severely...
Both Huawei and Xiaomi are established brands. Just because you don't see them in USA doesn't mean they weren't around for years. Both companies make premium phones and they are all top quality.
Good thing I'm on Win 10 Pro and still run 1709. The "Defer updates" setting is one of the few things working properly still. I'd migrate to LTSC in a heartbeat if that laptop wasn't company property.
The fearmongering here is growing to new heights. If managed properly each application that runs in your browser could have its own directory to work in, without being able to write anywhere else. Just because you don't understand what this new technology is all about, doesn't mean it's as scary...
It's about time they did that. Both Adobe with Flash and Microsoft with Silverlight tried it and failed. Being able to run programs in your browser as if they were executables will change the world of computers as we know it. If done successfully it will make Windows obsolete since you'll be...
At 280$ this card is too expensive if you don't care about the games. At 230$ it would be the perf/$ champ. Right now you can buy a 580 and save a lot of money or you could add a few $ and get a 1070 for much better performance.
Based on the numbers given here, simple math tells us it takes 80.95 Radeon Instinct MI25 GPUs to deliver 1 petaFLOPS, while we need 179.7 Tesla Tensor Core V100 GPUs to do the same. Win for the Radeons or just bad scaling for the Teslas?
