Ok cool. I would grab a cable locally and try it / return it. I think it may be safe to say your firmware is out of date. Everyone updating is having their issue resolved. Maybe try reinstalling the lg desktop software and / or attempt different ports on your computer. Hope you get it resolved.
Don't give a damn about the PIP, was trying to discern if you had other monitors connected to your system (in reference to the message displayed). You should try again with USB-C for the software update (you can leave the DP plugged in). Make sure it's all snug, mine did the same initially.
If you want to update..disconnect all other monitors... Connect USB-C for the data. That message is telling you to disconnect your secondary and tertiary+ monitors...
Jealous, I have 2x 32UD59-B's and 1 43UD79-B w/ floating arms. I honestly had to go back to the product page on Amazon and look at this setup again (reviews). I imagine yours is looking pretty awesome as well.
Alongside my power settings, I upgraded firmware as well, it's been a week (going from several a day to none since settings change). It was the main reason I ended up on this forum, is due to it happening daily and sometimes hourly.
