DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I have fans in my other A4-SFX that's geared towards gaming/desktop duties, so I don't mind fans. But this one is geared towards high end audio, and if I can get away without the fan, then I'm thinking "why not?". No mechanical noise and/or moving parts is somewhat the goal. If the absolute...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I have a A4-SFX v1 that I'm only using for music duties and some youtube/netflix. (I have even disabled two of the cores on a 4770k). I'd love to be able to passively cool the cpu in this case. My PSU is already fanless and the stock fan is adequate but makes a little noise. I've asked about the...

DAN C4-SFX: The smallest water cooling case in the world

I like the unibody version better. Aesthetically it looks better and represents DANCASE better IMHO. I kinda like the Ghost S1 too, but it's a little heavy, and ind the end I'm put off by the tophats (although I see why others like this).

Thanks for the confirmation. Yeah you did kinda answer some of the questions, but I didn't want to make any assumptions ;) Do you think a trifurbication riser could fit (8x+4x+4x), assuming the third socket is spaced evenly spaced as the bifurbication riser? (One might need a thinner cooler for...

    PCIE Bifurcation

Well, if you want to do it that way, I reckon you'd need something like 25cm as 20cm will be too small when counting the height of the riser pcb and bending of the flex cable. It seems the 5cm is the way to go if doing it the way chronodog does it. Come to think of it, it seems that even a...

    PCIE Bifurcation

OK thanks :) I guess 10cm is the right one for the A4. Guess I'll have to order a couple for future usage as I can't find anything else anywhere. Would hate to see them become unavailable in the future when I actually need it :)

I got that it was a part from Ameri-Rack, but Google says they don't deal with end users. Google also says opposite :) Just wondered if you bought it from somewhere else like one would buy an Asus motherboard from Newegg and not directly from Asus. Anyways, how long is your riser? Do you find it...

ChronoDog Where did you buy the riser? I'd like one too :D

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Exactly. Nobody "needs" 4 SSDS (2 in front and 2 on the bracket under the psu) + 1|2|3 drives loose inside the case. Part of the fun/goal/point of these custom cases are maximizing space and ingenious solutions. "Value for money" (within reason) is less of a factor. Maybe V4 then ..

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I think a missed opportunity is to be able to mount 2 2.5" drives in the front. It would fit if you turn them 90 degrees. Obviously would need some kind super flat sata riser cable (something like Apple use in their mac minis). I could probably drill some holes if I could get hold of such a...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

When will a manufacturer come out with an alternative GPU cooler that takes advantage of the added real estate at top/bottom area when using vertical mounted GFX cards? It could either be pre installed or an aftermarked solution, and it could be specially tailored for the A4, or as a general...

    Node 304 Cooler Question

D15 fits but it will depend on the motherboard (check compatibility lists on the Noctua homepage). And you probably have to use it with just 1 fan...butwith a 6500, you could probably use the d15 without it's fans and just use the main fan on the 304 to blow coolr air in from the outside.

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I think the V2 is pretty much perfect. A SFX PSU + 120 AIO + a 1080ti mini would mean a lot more noise, and you can say goodbye to semi fanless PSU too. Can't really imagine anyone doing that. Also the 3M PCI riser is pretty much guaranteed to scale up to whatever version of PCIE as long as...

    PCIE Bifurcation

Thats quite cool, but I would just use a 1080ti instead and get better performance.. Just wanting to make a small - near silent home studio. A pair of Lynx E44 sound cards would give 8+8 in/out channels. Enough for analog 7.1 surround and 8 channel inputs of professional quality. I realize I...

    PCIE Bifurcation

Has anyone got this to work with the Dancase A4-SFX? I am obviously not looking to run SLI GPUs or anything but more along of 2 professional soundcards. (So it doesn't need to support anything more than 1X to 4X). I'm looking for a PLX solution, with the right lenght of the ribbon cable that...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

I've got the V1 case and waiting for the V2 for another project. They are almost identical. The feet on the V1 are useless, and It's nice that the V2 can accomodate the Asetek AIO without drilling holes yourself, but other than these 2 things it's not worth waiting for if the alternative is...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Thanks! I dont Thanks. I think I'll just go with the the standard standoff. I'd like to keep the look as "pretty" as possible. TBH even the stock cooler without a fan will probably suffice. It's only for music playback, and running Linux without a GUI. Besides, when I upgrade the motherboard in...

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Won't using lower standoffs mess up the alignment between the motherboard/case? I think I'll just take the easy route and go for the Phanteks PH-TC12LS (47mm wo fan) or Prolimatech Samuel 17 (45mm wo fan) ...or Thermalright AXP-100 @44mm

DAN A4-SFX: The smallest gaming case in the world

Hi guys, I'm new. I have a A4-SFX but I'm using is as a low power media server. Anyone tried the Noctua NH-L9x65 cooler without the fan? It's 51mm without the fan, 3mm too high. Does anyone have any experiences with lowering this cooler by 3mm? Preferably by bending the heatpipes and not cutting...
