Thanks for all this info. I am getting more into networking, being that I have a very small datacenter of my own now. On my home setup I have been trying to improve security and such. I realized that when using windows or mac osx, I can still get leaks at ip leaks using tools found...
Sorry the best I can do is contribute on the forum here and there. My work days are long enough, I would have to charge for mining classes :nailbiting:
I agree, looking for new coins all the time is not often the best way to go. You can reinvest what you mine into cheaper upcoming coins, but just like any market, you need to do research and know what you're buying, everything is a risk, nothing is a sure thing. Like Duron pointed out, your AMD...
That's 3 GPUs, I would increase your virtual memory to a custom size, even if it's not 16GB. I have no testing to refer to, but on paper if you're using 3 GPUs, set to at least 8GB virtual mem?
As far as not messing with virtual memory, I don't know what miner you're using. But with claymore...
I don't know about that being completely true. So far although the issue of running 6 GPUs has been solved on windows by taking a few specific steps in uninstalling and reinstalling the working drivers, the power consumption is way up on these cards. I haven't seen many do less than 130watts...
Good numbers for stable operation on 7 GPU rigs. Elpida and Hynix are both good memory types, Samsung seems to be top on some brands, Micron is the worst. What do you run your core clock at? I tend to hit 27-28Mh/x on Hynix rx470 4gb cards with -48v - 1100/1900 to 1150/1900 on identical 1500...
I would like to also add that if you're mining with more than 2 GPUs, it does require an increase in virtual memory for best performance. For a 6 GPU rig, you need to increase virtual memory to 16GB minimum, it will save you headaches. The other option is to mine with linux, but I would not...
You don't solo mine on established coins unless you already have a lot of hash power. For example, on Ethereum, I would suggest to start solo mining when you have at least 12-18 GPUs or 2-3 6xGPU rigs.. Even at 2 I find it too low now. Pool mining will give you predetermined payout based on...
You also need to consider what memory type you have and with modded bios you can significantly undervolt and underclock while keeping same hashrate. Less electricity, more efficiency, less heat.
Hi imre,
I'm new here but have been mining for almost a year now. Ok so let's start with the temps, and risers. Yes the card is hotter because of placement as DuronClocker explained.
Are you damaging your card at 85c? Well, it can be argued that some hardcore miners have kept their gear...
