I am running a C7 with a Noctua 120x15mm fan and under Prime95 temps reached that high as well. I would say that Prime95 is not a good measure, instead play some games for a few hours and use a program like hardware monitor to keep an eye on cpu temps. I find that my average temp is never higher...
I played around with overclocking but unfortunately the best I can get is 3.6GHz on stock voltages. I did try increasing the voltage and it was stable but idle temps skyrocketed 20C going from 40C to 60C. Anybody have any luck getting higher than 3.6GHz with reasonable temps?
Follow up to my build and the temps I am seeing.
So I have my cpu manually set to 3.6 GHz and with the Noctua Fan and Cryorig C7 during long gmaing sessions 3+ hours the temp hovers around 60C. I ran Prime95 and of course it hit 90C, but I think after keeping an eye on it while playing games I...

Yea I have been waiting for the copper edition and i will definitely pick it up when it releases. Here is the link to the .thing files that i found, the person that made them also made 92mm version as well. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2313969
Cryorig c7 with 3d printed 120mm fan mount and noctua 120mm fan. Barely clears ram, still waiting on Cryorigs AM4 mounting kit but looking forward to seeing what the temps will be with my Ryzen 1700 :)
Looks good hope it performs well! Also for anybody wondering about the Cryorig C7 Copper edition I emailed there customer support and they replied back saying that it is planned to launch before the end of the year. No specific date though.
Unfortunately there is no release date for the CU series from Cryorig I contacted them a month or so ago and they replied that what they showed was a concept and that they didn't have any information on when/if they would be actually releasing it. I too was hoping to get that as a cooling...
Yea they said at computex it wouldn't be until the end of the year before any new details. I'm not really in a rush to build so I will probably wait it out. Also waiting to see what dondan does with the HSLP-48.
I am waiting for Cryorig to release the C7 copper version of it that they announced back in June. I will probably pick that one up to test with and see if it has any improvements over the non copper
Has anybody been reading on the rumors of the 8th gen consumer i7s? Looks like they are going to be 6 core parts and there will be a 65w i7 that has 6 cores and reaches a turbo boost clock speed of 4.4-4.5. I think im going to wait and see what those are priced at and make my decision to go amd...
SaperPL ZombiPL Any updates on international shipments? I believe mine was sent in the 3rd Shipment and the last tracking update was June 12th. Patiently waiting for my sentry :)
I found a 92mm AIO cooler by Asetek that might work a little better space wise http://www.asetek.com/desktop/oem-cpu-coolers/545lc/ now i need to decide if I would want to sacrifice gpu space...
