I'm disappointed by the results of the C7 Cu compared with the normal C7. I stressed them in a brief 15min Prime-run and got following results: C7 aluminium: 86/84/84/87 with 26°C ambient C7 copper: 85/82/84/85 with 24°C ambient So no improvement by the cooler itself as it seems.

Sure it is, but 3C I could only see in extreme scenarios - Prime, etc While gaming I can't tell if it's cooler because of a variant in ambient temperature or the additional fan.

I do have an Akasa 80mm Slim fan underneath the mobo but to be honest temps didn't improve significantly - maybe 1-3°C.

Btw I swapped the Noctua NF-A9x14 on my L9i for a "beQuiet! Silent Wings 2". Temps are admittedly a few degrees higher at full load but it runs much more quiet than the A9x14 - although it is just 1-2mm from the sidepanel. In idle both are inaudible. Maybe you wanna try ^^

I use the I/O shield all the time because I won't risk any damage when traveling. So I can only guess that its maybe a few degrees.

These are my settings - rock solid. A lower VCore results in instability with my 7700K...

I use Corsair Vengeance RAM (2x16GB 3200MHz) in my system. No problems with the RAM yet but the Z270I board is quiet bitchy with XMP and timings. Had to set timings manually to avoid the coldboot bug.

Stock feet are screwed (M3). Some Computerbase.de-Users (including me) replaced them with these.

Also delidded my [email protected] GHz (liquid pro) and with the L9i (kryonaut) I get temps up to 77°C (I/O shield removed). Delidding and good quality thermal paste improve temps A LOT! I'm looking forward to DANs new cooler, I believe temps may further decrease with it in my setup.

I used a bit of heat-resistant silicone-adhesive on the broad edges of the IHS just to hold it in place, more of a habit though. Never had any problems with relidded CPUs this way.
