Got some temps to tell you guys about. Got home and ambient was about 19-20C, FTW3 idled at 36C. I set my fan curves to that the fans never spin up more than 50%. After running a full benchmark of Unigine Heaven, max temp reached was about 75-76C. I used EVGA Precision XOC with a power target of...
The FTW3 fits. :)
You have to unscrew the PCI slot and fold it out of the way and get the card in first, then push the PCI slot onto the card and screw it back in.
Sorry for the crappy photo, will take some better ones later if requested.
Something I've wondered about delidding, since I've not done it before... If the glue on the heat spreader creates some distance between the die and the spreader itself, and you remove all the glue, do you not run the risk of the heat spreader actually getting too close to the die where it...
What makes you think the FTW3 won't fit?
Anyway I have a FTW3 on order and will update when I get it to confirm if it fits or does not fit. I suppose at worst I can sell it for what I paid relatively easy on eBay. Or maybe I'd just return it to EVGA. Idk what would be the best option.
My understanding from Dondan's post was that the problem isn't with gaps between the direct contact heatpipes, but rather the concentration of heat on the CPU heatspreader. Regardless of whether or not there are gaps or no gaps in a direct contact design, the inner most heatpipes will absorb...
Thanks for the good info! Is Cablemod still the best option with regards to quality/price, or does anyone here recommend another vendor for quality/price?
I'm sorry if this has already been answered somewhere, but I didn't have much luck searching.
Has anyone verified what custom cable lengths need to be for pairing an SF600 power supply and a Strix Z270I board in this case?
He said 7700 not 7700K.
I have a 7700 (non-K) in my case with an L9i and while running stress tests the temp goes between 77-89ish Celsius. I think the fluctuation is due to my fan curve.
I really like the looks of it considering it appears to be a 2 slot card and not a 2.5 slot card like the 1080 Ti Strix. Just wish I new when it will be available for ordering and the price, and if it would fit in the A4.
Posted a question about replacement antennas for the ASUS Z270I Strix board here: https://hardforum.com/threads/asus-wi-fi-go-module-replacement-antenna-options.1926585/
I know people have discussed this in this thread earlier, but didn't see a lot of options that would work for both Bluetooth...
I have an ASUS Z270i Strix motherboard and I was looking around to figure out if I can use another type of antenna for the Wi-Fi module. I don't want to have a plastic thing sitting on top of my case with wires going to the I/O shield. Instead I'd rather have a couple of hard antenna on the back...
Spoke with Cablemod. They said their foam backed RGB LED strips are at end of life/discontinued because magnetic is much more popular. Sucks since this case is aluminum. Anyone know of some good quality RGB strips that will work with ASUS Aura and this case?
I'm so salty that I happened to miss the preorder window for the 1080 Ti. Anyone know of any open-air cards that have been announced that will probably fit in the case? I would wait for the Strix 1080 Ti but I'm pretty sure it's too big.
Does the ASUS 1080Ti Strix seem too big for the A4-SFX? I don't know how tall 2.5 slot GPUs typically are. https://videocardz.com/66972/asus-rog-strix-geforce-gtx-1080-ti-and-turbo-available-mid-march

I understand it's not about power. They are not rated for 5GHz at all, but I'm still wondering if they would be able to pick up something from that range. I mean, a coat hanger isn't rated for OTA television, but people can make it work sometimes.
I'm in the U.S. and my case seems to have just arrived at an international airport in Germany and the tracking number was just loaded into the USPS system.
I think it would be easily longer than a year considering what has to fit into the timeline.
Imagine dondan wants to use Kickstarter for this as well. Before the campaign can even start he has to find a manufacturer who is willing to make some prototypes for him, then he has to test the...
Pretty sure I just received a used L9i from Noctua on Amazon even though it was sold as new. Wonder if it belonged to one of you originally. Anyway pretty frustrated about having to go through getting it exchanged.
Wow I really did not expect that to fit at all. I'm very interested to hear about temperatures and whether or not TridentZ RAM w/ the headsink still on them would fit underneath.
The things I would hope for are 100% copper, perhaps nickel-plated. Also if Noctua was behind it I would like to see a slim version of one of their redux or industrial fans. And locating the fan below the heatsink seems to be a must.
I would also prefer to be able to use any RAM I want, without...
