Maybe you could start a thread that does nothing but discuss ideas for the next DAN case?

(Mackan, nothing personal) It's really too bad that there's no such thing as owners getting their hands dirty and custom modding their PC cases. That way, all the people with a niche wish list could actually get their case to be totally customized to their specifications, and could show us how...

CknSalad I plan on going with a single 1920x1200 monitor, so 1060 gpu - either EVGA SC or SSC 6GB ($260-$280) - for the time being. I'm waiting for reviews of the SSC and Black Friday sales before I splurge.

I believe he has, but IIRC, it was installed on the "top" side of the motherboard, so may have got some airflow from the CPU fan. That having been said, if you were going to use a "back" side M.2 and no other drive mounted on the bottom of the case, you could always try a ~25 - 40x10mm fan on...

Sounds awesome. Start your own limited edition production run. Seriously, the 1 USB port thing was hashed to death ages ago. The gap above the blanking plates is not visible from the front. The window kit is optional (and IMO, superfluous), so I won't ever see the screws on the side.

Perhaps the "is" should be taken as "can be". However, a fan that doesn't spin makes the least amount of noise, regardless of the fan diameter.

I'm curious to see if any of the big case OEMs jump into this case layout - even on the cheap (e.g., no included riser cable, stamped steel / molded plastic construction). We've seen the MSI Nightblade come close, at least style-wise, if not size-wise.

Was disappointed with Linus recommending a blower-style GPU. Apparently he doesn't understand that the EVGA open air coolers (dual fan) are quieter and cooler due to more air movement at lower fan speed, shorter fins (aligned perpendicular to the log axis of the card, means that heat transfer...

Assuming you're just late to the party, I'd get the C7 every day and twice on Sunday. I am personally concerned that the heatpipes on the AR cooler will interfere with a board component and force it to be used in a non-ideal orientation. The C7 seems to me not to have any obvious fitment issues.

I doubt that you will find many aftermarket 92x10mm fans, and I doubt that they will be significantly "better" than the OEM fan in terms of airflow/noise. If thicker fans can be mounted, they won't fit in the A4 case as the stock C7 just fits. The consensus is that the C7 is one of the best...

For those who were waiting, Cryorig sent me a PM indicating the C7 is back in stock at Amazon US (verified by going to the product page on Amazon). PCPartPicker has yet to notice the stock refresh and return to "normal" pricing.

Or he should have used the flat ribbon cables. Custom sleeving in this case is wasted effort, unless you're doing it for optimizing cable length.

Best bet is to wait for this first run to ship and then ask if anyone is willing to sell one. Some folks bought 2 and might be willing to sell one. Otherwise, you'll need to wait for the second production run, which might be through a reseller. dondan any suggestions for this guy and others like...

The 450 and 600 have the same fan - or at least they did when reviewed - so the 600 may have a harder time cooling a higher load. Tom's reviewed both, so everyone on the fence go and read the reviews already!

Since you're buying this case, you don't need any "headroom" with the PSU. Get the 450. The Tom's Hardware reviewer practically asked this PSU out for drinks.

Lucky you! (I was assigned #14) BTW I also had CC issues (flagged as fraud) and had to politely ask my bank to kindly let the charge go through. My first KS, and for foreign exchange, so I'm forgiving them for being cautious.

Not wanting to rush dondan, but he did indicate that there would be additional production runs likely of the A4-SFX if he got 1000 units on the Kickstarter (which is effectively sold out at the last time I checked). Since I'm not Dan, I won't attempt to speak about changes for future runs, but...

It also matters how the fins on the heatsink are oriented and how much area there is to exhaust the warm air. Lots of "reference"-style cards have a stupid tiny area for the air to exhaust at the IO area of he card (due in no small part to the sheer bulk of DVI connectors), and the hot air is...

Claimed TDP of the new 1080 is like 180W at stock IIRC. Even if it's double that, you still have 90w for the CPU, storage, mobo and cooling with the 450.

"It's a business." That still doesn't give anyone license to complain about how quickly or slowly Dan is working. I'm guessing that at this point that it's not going to change Dan's timetable. If you can afford to wait, fine. If not, also fine - just smile and move on with your Plan B.

Tom's positively gushed over the Corsair SF450 recently. The 600 uses the same fan, so it's likely a bit more noisy than the 450 due to the added heat/wattage. That being said, Aibohphobia liked his SF600 sample (see the review on SFFN).
