Are you sure it's the blur that's causing this or it's actually the choppiness? Choppiness is something I see with most VAs out of the box and you can get rid of it by setting sharpness to the lowest level (usually 5, the most soft setting). The text may become blurred, but you should get...
So I bought the HP S270c... and returned it almost immediately. But thanks to that I am almost sure now what bothers me... it is the coating when it's hard (this HP was very good)...however what causes eye strain for me is pixel inversion issues!!! This S270c had extremely bad pixel inversion...
I am now again considering getting the HP S270C that you suggested earlier. It is quite expensive for what it is, but if it is the only option going glossy/semi-glossy I'll probably give it a try. Would there be any info on the panel type somewhere available please?
Is the info on what panel is actually used with iiyama's 2783 available somewhere?
I could get it from the service menu when I had it with me, but unfortunately did not do it and now it's returnred...stupid me...
OK, thanks for the info. However, the following review site actually calls a similar model of EW2750ZL "semi-glossy":
https://pcmonitors.info/reviews/benq-ew2750zl/
But as there is no definition of what semi-glossy really means in terms of coating lightness, you just may be right. However I am...
So I had a chance to see the Samsung C27F390F in a shop nearby and it's a no-go. I'm starting to feel the well-known eye pain within several minutes. It's not bad at all, but it's there.
Would there be a photo or information on the coating of the following two please?
Benq BL2700HT
Benq...
Thank you very much for this! Will give it a try then.
Looks like Samsung S27C750P could be my holy grail (semi-glossy screen), but they don't sell them anymore :( I don't see any direct successor to this monitor.
Thanks a lot for your answer, igluk. However not sure I'll be getting any of those 2 - one seems to be an all in one PC, the other is a presentation monitor with big speakers. Of course I'll give it another thought if there's no other option.
The thing is I do not really need a glossy or even...
Are you sure you have 100% scaling set in Windows? I actually have not seen any monitor that would not at least on the sides and at least slighly flicker on one of these patterns. Most monitors flicker with 4a/b or 7a/b.
Also please try to look on the screen under a sharp angle while watching...
OMG, no :) The flickering while scrolling is caused by the slower panel response times which is perfectly normal with VA. The pixel inversion flickering is checked when you look at those images without any moving of the pictures. You can actually move them around the screen, but they should...
Hi, hard to say. Are you sure it is EVERY pattern? On my 2483hsu-b1 it is just 4a or 4b depending on the offset and then the green pattern. I already wrote to iiyama to see what tool they use to test it and whether there is a chance to RMA based on the results. If it is really so bad for you, I...
Hello,
I have XB2483HSU-B1 (not 2) for about 1-2 months and just in the last week or two I realized that it bothers me a bit watching large spaces of white color. A bit of research led me to pixel inversion tests where the monitor is apparently affected by some of the paterns.
In the following...
Thanks a lot.
This is the first time I see these haze percentages. What percentage would 3H hard coating have? IPS panels used to have a much harder coating than most of them have now. Therefore I don't know which models you are referring to by mentioning "IPS panels".
Does anybody have information what coating is found o this monitor (iiyama ProLite XB2483HSU)?
VA panels usually have light ones, but need to be sure.
Thank you very much.
Hello,
I recently posted this thread:
http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1844485&highlight=
To make the story short, although there are some suggestions in that thread there I would still prefer the following:
24" semi-glossy (or light matte) TN panel with no PWM

24"...
No further advice it seems.
Anyway, just out of curiosity - how do you guys choose displays, for me it has become a mission impossible and that's why I ended up with TNs.
Let's sum it up:
TN: poor colors (not much of a problem for me though) almost always with FRC and quite often with PWM...
Thanks a lot for your reply. Asus and Dell display are PWM mostly or at least it is hard to find out whether they use it or not. Not to mention the coating...
Most TNs do not have hard coating, but some do, last time I tried one of the gaming monitors from BenQ that are all flicker-free... I...
Hello,
after trying out several displays where I had to return them as I could not stand them (quick eye fatigue, burning eyes effect). I discovered that what is giving me the biggest problems is PWM and hard coating.
Additionally I am not after IPS panels as I hate the IPS glow. I simply...
