Am i doing something different in my setup? I run a i5-4690k at stock and a MSI Gaming 4G GTX 980 (1444Mhz core/7.52Ghz memory) and get consistent performance around 50fps at 1440p, even with lots of action onscreen.
I'm running everything in Ultra under Graphics except I've manually set...
I look forward to it. I tried running 2x MFAA (forcing it in Nvidia control panel) with FXAA on and was fine in the city, running 45-60+fps in 1440p on a GTX 980 with all other settings maxed except grass very high and only high resolution shadows.
But I just got to the outer limits with...
Is it really highest settings if you don't turn on MSAA or Reflection MSAA?
Was the performance hit too high to include those settings?
Will there be a benchmark done showing the impact of MSAA at various resolutions?
I'm going to buck the trend a bit here.
I got mine and set it up yesterday. I calibrated it using TFTCentral's settings and icc profile. Ran all the pixel screen tests and have zero dead or stuck pixels, basically pixel perfect.
I have the screen running at 25% brightness and have almost...
Here you go people, 2 in stock at Amazzon for $818 as of this posting

If it is optimized to the quality of Max Payne 3 on PC there shouldn't be an issue. I have that game running maxed at 1440p and Vram counter in options isn't maxed (seriously, why don't more games give you a Vram estimate when changing graphics options)
Got a backorder email yesterday from Acer, no estimate of arrival yet. Oh well, gonna wait it out. Not worth cancelling as I got 10% off this order and saved $80.
For shits and giggles I tried adding another one to my cart with the buy button on the Acer site, now is back to the verbage of:
It said "in stock" when I made my order, hope this means I got one.
i added to cart and it said "in stock" on the cart page. I'm sure this is just backorder, but I ordered it anyways. At least my name is on the list. I'll update when I get an email from them saying one or the other.
Edit: and 10% off discount code: SeizeTheIdea
still works, brought the...
Acer has a page for third party sales set up on Amazon
http://www.amazon.com/Acer-UM-HB0AA-001-27IN-2560-XB270HU/dp/B00UPVXDA8/ref=pd_sxp_f_pt
I used camelcamelcamel.com to set up a price alert. Assuming the Amazon link updates when Acer gets stock it will alert me when there is availability
Hell, they got it for $756 at CDW, not bad. Says "Call" for availablity though.....
Never ordered anything form them though. I know they are a well known company, wonder if they are reputable?
Edit: Just called CDW and they are on back-order until mid-april.
Linus Tech Tips posted a video review of this monitor on his Vessel page:

Says it's replacing the ROG Swift as his 144Hz gaming monitor of choice going forward.
I'm really getting impatient waiting for the US retail release. I have a GTX 980 enabled system just waiting to be hooked up to this thing. (I know I won't hit 144Hz with one 980, more interested in the 40-60fps G-sync IPS goodness)
The real benefits of G-Sync actually come when your frames are between 40-60fps. The perceived smoothness will be as good at 40fps as it is at 60, it's really the sweet spot.
If you can push over 100fps in 1440p you'd be better off using the UMLB mode instead.
I have a M7 and love it. I can't imagine not having front facing speakers and the buildquality is amazing. I've dropped it numerous times with no case and it comes back fine. Thing is the M9 doesn't give me any reason to upgrade. An extra .3 inches of screen, 1gb ram and faster processor with a...
Don't wanna sit here and read the whole thread so not sure if this is mentioned.

You'd be better off waiting until mid-April when it releases to major retailers. I wouldn't pay anything over the $799 price quoted by Acer on their website.
People like the Amazon link above are trying to cash in on peoples' lack of patience.
I have a Kraken x41 myself paired with a i5-4690k overclocked to 4.4Ghz.
My unit idles at 23-25C in silent mode in CAM software. Under load I switch to performance and never break 62C in OCCT. I have mine set up as Push/Pull in the exhaust port of my H440, if you have the ability I would...
Aerocool Dead Silence fans work quite well and are stylish if that matters to you. I have two of the red 140mm in my H440 and they work great. Overall system temps stay at 23c at board level during everyday use.
Go with the 980. I have one and have no problem running 1440p at ultra. A single card solution is always better. Also going with the single 980 leaves you with the option of getting a second one down the road when you need it.
Microsoft gives out all kinds of free software to students through their Dreamspark program. I got Wndows 7+SP, Windows 8 and 8.1 all for free. They also have countless other things on there.
