Sorry to interrupt this debate, but am I the only one with the problem? My displays are set to turn off after short while to save power. All other displays seem to turn off but are still visible for the system, while LG turns of completely. This leads to extreme mess when I turn displays back on...
Thanks for all the replies, so it's Delock 87685 or Sunix DPU3000-D3. Both are more expensive than what I paid for each of my FW900  I'll stick to Delock 87685 as it's available in my country. Even though it's a splitter, does it work as normal DisplayPort to VGA converter? So just one...
Hi guys,
I'm thinking about upgrading my PC and so I would like to upgrade my 980Ti which we all know is the last DVI-I card.
Are there any better alternatives to DeLOCK 62967 ? Of course I'm going to use WPB and custom ICC profile...
Obviously yes, but after all you were able to achieve stable 343 MHz. You never know if they wouldn't stop shipments or for whatever reason they wouldn't be available. It's better having one that has potential to work correctly rather than having none, especially that they are quite cheap.
Not...
Great to know. I have asked Polish distributor about availability and they told me it should hit the shelves around second week of September, price should be somewhere between $25 - $30. No available for preorder yet, but if I manage to get one I'm gonna post the results for sure.
Weren't they supposed to have 340MHz Clock? That's kinda saddening, 270 Mhz is quite far from 323Mhz required for 1200p @ 96Hz. Waiting for tad faster adapters...
Tracking this thread few years back it seems that Poland has to have one of the biggest CRT fan base around the globe, me included :)
Had this problem when I left my monitor turned off for a week. Came back home and it had obvious symptoms of faulty FBT. Then I decided to keep it on for as long as possible - it used to be on 24/7 for I guess a month? All problems were gone since then. Now I can leave my moniotr off for a week...
There are some advantages:
- there is much less stress applied to the electron guns, so image is generally crisper and warmup time is quicker
- I personally found inner glare to be handled better (again, probably due to less guns stress)
- corners are sharper, again due to less guns stress
-...
Yes that's what I mean - if you want proper color management, then you have to use proper software. I do use displayCAL to create ICC profile which is then recognized by Adobe software or free software like IrfanView. It's quite easy to check with green color - we all know that it's somewhat...
Not really I think. Wider than sRGB gamut monitors are more and more popular now. All you need is proper icc profile and use software that can recognize it, then you should be all fine.
Dzięki, ja jakoś żyję chociaż raz na jakiś czas się przeprowadzam i 3 kineskopy ze sobą wiozę :D 2x FW900 i raz P1130.
Same feeling, my Dell P1130 has much better built in coating than FW900 has ever had with any foil.
That's correct. I have one one FW900 with polarizing foil and another...
Blast from the past! Sorry I must have missed this post, but hopefully 3dfan would read this some day.
http://allegro.pl/folia-polaryzacyjna-0-2mm-120x50-cm-nieklejaca-i6773125181.html As mentioned by Strat_84, with its 64% is not really suitable for a screen. Where did you get yours?
It is...
Wow that is some useful information, never noticed the difference :) Thank you for pointing this out, that will make next search wiser. By the way I wouldn't say that it's very bad, screen looks really contrasty and blacks are amazing.
By the way, please let us know if you find any suitable...
I have bought polarizing foil with 64% transmittance and it's much darker than original one. Wonder if it's not properly described or there is a difference in AG and polarizing foils when it comes to transmittance.
Are there any foils confirmed to have similar properties to original AG coating...
Haven't been here for quite some time, I was really interested in Analogix. By the way I got second FW900 with scratched AG and mine polarazing foil is just too dark. Will have to look for something less light absorbing.
UNKLEVITO if that is not a secret, when was the last time people like...
You were right : at first time I was able to achieve around 65cd/m2, at second 85 cd/m2. I was able to set 6500K and 5000K nominal luminance at second attempt, so I guess at third even 9300K will be fine.
I thought about it, but then I realized that I had same problem before. Now I have loaded my first .dat file taken just after I bought my unit with AG on. Luminance is 105 cd/m2, while I couldn't get beyond 65 yesterday. My guess is that sometimes ABL just kicks in for unknown reason. I will try...
Wanted to go through WPB just to see it in full glory... but I encountered ABL issue :D(n) damn this thing drove me crazy once and that time I remember that setting G2 tad higher helped, but not tonight. Oh well, gonna fight this tomorrow. Time to party.
Okay so polarizing foil is ON!
First thoughts:
blacks have gotten soooo much better
this thing is really really prone to scratching
at first encounter I tried to use original glue - result was bad. Really bad TBH. I remember XoR had same problem with huge amount of air bubbles
then I took it...
Yeah it was 183 in my calculations as well but I have never encountered odd number in any timings so it made me wonder if I am correct. Would this single pixel make any difference?
Polarization foil has arrived, can't wait till tomorrow.
Hey,
after reset in OSD menu, resolutions are working great.
Left : WinDAS Right: my settings in CRU

MID setting:

I am after geometry adjustments in HIGH mode and I must say that results are very promising, but I need to master my...
Sorry for all the hassle, I'm really tired after this work week.
By proportions I mean, if horizontal active is 1770 px = 5.255 uSec and horizontal total is x = 7.886 uSec then x = (1770*7.886)/5.255 and that equals to 2656. This way I got the values I needed.
My first thought was like 'damn I...
I know I might be tired and unable to understand easy things, but in this post: https://hardforum.com/threads/24-widescreen-crt-fw900-from-ebay-arrived-comments.952788/page-252#post-1040440823 you mention that things marked in red are the ones that you inputted.
I understand that they all match...
Just for the same reason you use Argryll - linearizing gamma to 2.2 and adding some grayscale corrections. DisplayCAL is just GUI to Argryll, so why not use it?
Yeah I wish. Problem is that horizontal values are represented in uSec rather than pixels. I have only found calculators like this...
From what I've read, this is about using one software for profiling and veryfing. So profiling done with DisplayCAL would always show very small dE in verification. That's why one should cross-check their profile with either different software or different device. Not really sure about it, but...
Took it from work and can clearly confitrm - C6 works great and is pretty quick device. At least twice as fast as my DTP-94. Should I always use CRT Profile for HCFR and Agryll? I mean one called "CRT (Hitachi CM2112MET, Diamond View 1772ie)".
Just wondering - HCFR shows proper dE and I can...
Yeah I used it many times to go through WPB procedure but never read surroundings which I can now clearly see was a mistake. Thanks a lot.
So now I understand how things work and have some additional questions:
1. to which gray point BIAS settings are related? Is this 30% gray?
2. I have my...
Few questions:
1. Is there any news on Analogix? Can't wait till I upgrade to Pascal GPU.
2. To my knowledge WPB should not only set proper white balance, but also RGBCMY coordinates properly. If first step is true and I can clearly and easily switch preset white point in OSD, then after...
That would be 211.42 MHz, so I guess with any 270Mhz adapter there would be no problem. Also 1280x1024 is 5:4 resolution ratio and none of CRT is like that. You should rather use 1280x960 or 1600x1200 for 4:3 CRTs or something around 1600x1000 for 16:10 CRT.
Wow what a luck, original...
