    Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact

From what I've read, secure-erase bricks the XP941, but yea that probably would have worked with any other drive.

Yea, it was the same drive and same installation. I'm back up and running. Installed Windows to a spare SSD, once in Windows Disk Management saw the XP941, used Diskpart to wipe it then shut down. Booted back up, booted from USB and the Windows installation saw the blank XP941 and I was...

    Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact

This is basically my current plan. I'm not going to backup anything, just install Windows to a secondary SSD. Once I'm in Windows I was going to use diskpart to wipe the drive, then try and reinstall Windows. I'll post back with results.

Yes, I only put in what it is normally, I have one internal drive, and those are my options, I don't even have an internal ROM. When the USB is plugged in I'll have an additional two options, "UEFI: Patriot Memory" and "Patriot Memory" and I always select to boot from the UEFI one. When I...

Booting from it. Same process that worked the first time.

Yes, I already have it bootable on the XP941 ... but i'm trying to reinstall Windows. The X941 is my only internal drive, so my boot options are: Boot Option #1 "Windows Boot Manager (P1: SAMSUNG MZHPU128HCGM-00000) Boot Option #2 "UEFI: SAMSUNG MZHPU128HCGM-00000 I can still...

Sorry for the confusion, BIOS sees the XP941 and I can still boot to my current Windows install. Trying to reinstall Windows 8.1 ... that is the problem, Windows 8.1 does not see the XP941 when it's time to pick a drive to install to, and I didn't have this issue on my initial Windows...

    Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact

I used RAID because I emailed Asus prior to purchasing the Impact VII and a rep told me the XP941 was bootable, "So long as the onboard controller is set to RAID mode." He was right, on the original BIOS for me, I tried installing default but it wouldn't work, switching to RAID actually...

Could use some help if possible from anyone with a XP941. I finally figured out my issue and it was a bad stick of RAM. Have my replacements and the system is functioning properly. I decided to do a clean Windows 8.1 install because I have about 50 crashes in the last 30 days in the old event...

    Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact

I'm going to do a clean Windows install tonight to see if it cleans up any of my issues. One question, do you guys ever install drivers directly from the part makers as opposed to Asus? I've DLed downloads from both and some look pretty similar and some look like Asus has quite a few more...

I don't recall multiple options, just the single listing for the ROM. I also tried changing RAID to ACHI, and UEFI to legacy OS, and same issue. When I get home from work I'm going to try using Rufus to create a UEFI bootable USB from the Memtest86+ image, see if the system will see that...

Thanks for the effort. I did try that, when I click on one of the boot override options, it's almost like a quick flash (or maybe it's all in my head) but nothing happens, stays in BIOS. I also have the latest BIOS. I have an external ROM drive, not internal, if I tap F8 during startup I get...

I was having an issue that my machine was crashing after left idle for a while. I think "Hybrid Sleep Mode" was causing it, not sure why, but I seem to be good since disabling it. Anyway, I wanted to test my memory with Memtest86+ and just cannot see to boot to it (USB or DVD). Memtest86 (non...

I'm also accepting this will be a no go for me without VESA. I'll wait for the Samsung S34E790C. It also lacks Thunderbolt so hopefully will be a bit cheaper and has VESA holes which can be seen in pictures. Only issues is not likely to be available till 2015, but oh well. Which Ergotron...

Official LG Curved Ultrawide 34UC97 thread

I called LG. The rep confirmed that no VESA adapters come in the box. He said he couldn't find anything in the system about in adapter for the UC97 but the fact that the product page lists VESA compatibility means something should come out, but that specs can change without warning so there is...

Official LG Curved Ultrawide 34UC97 thread

I've read the whole thread and I'm confused. The 34UC97-S clearly states on the LG website 100x100 vesa compatibility. Obliviously the holes are not there but it sounds like there will be an adapter (not confirmed)? Now the 34UC87 shows up and is clearly vesa mountable based on the pictures...

I had to turn the minimum CPU Fan RPM off, then I could boot and install Windows. After the Kraken Software was installed I plugged in the USB header and I have a CPU Fan RPM readout. Seems to be working. A bit crammed in a BitFenix Prodigy but working so far.

    Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact

I just got done setting up my machine. I have a NZXT Kraken x41 with my Maximus VII Impact. On first boot I get a CPU fan error? There is only one CPU Fan header on the motherboard, hard to get that wrong. The Kraken radiator fan is spinning, and the 3 pin pump power is connected to the...

    Asus ROG Maximus VII Impact

Does anyone happen to know if the Samsung XP941 has been tested as a boot drive with the Maximum Impact VII? I'm ordering the Impact VII either way and don't know if I should spring for the XP941. I've read plenty of other boards have had issues but nothing about this one, I guess hoped Asus...
