I just had a USB cable swing down from the top of my desk and damage the monitor a bit, leaving a chip in the panel about as big as a small cluster of pixels. Does anyone know a way to repair this?
I don't think it's the screen size. I'm having strain issues going from the BL3201PH/PT (a 32" monitor) to a XB271HK (a 27" monitor). I experience no strain on my other devices (iPad/SP4/etc), which are smaller, and I experience no fatigue looking at the large TV in the living room.
I had...
I experience these sorts of things with some monitors too. In fact, I was just about to post a thread about the XB271HK, as I'm having that problem with that monitor.
Having owned the BL3201PH/PT, I personally did not experience this effect on that panel to an extreme degree. It does not...
PLS == IPS == AHVA, etc;
These are a bit pricey, but they're you're best bet:
ASUS ROG PG278Q
ASUS ROG PG279Q
Acer XB270HU
Acer XB271HU
ASUS MG279Q
The first four are G-Sync, the last one is Freesync. However, the last one also has a bit of input lag, where as the first four do not.
The graphical artifacts or the white uniformity shadow banding? There's poor white uniformity on the BL3201PH that results in like these shadowy lines going horizontally and vertically across the panel.
I looked into it a bit more just now, and I'm fairly certain what we're experiencing here is the same banding effect found on the BL3200PT. In addition, the same problem is found on the Acer B326HK, which I suspect uses the same panel. I have horizontal and vertical banding that becomes apparent...
By "PC game controller", I'm referring to any standard gamepad device that can be used to play games on PC by some way or another. Examples include the Xbox 360 pad, Dualshock 4, Xbox One controller, and so on.
I own the Xbox One Elite controller. I must say, I dislike it quite a bit. It seems...
Panel came back with a new controller board today. Fixed nothing.
I've had around five of these now, so I feel comfortable in saying the following:
-The intermittent graphical glitches that others have mentioned in this thread are a model-wide issue. Exchanging does nothing to alleviate the...
Every panel that I've received has had poor white/gray uniformity. They've all had the "bruise" at the bottom middle of the screen as others have mentioned in the previous pages of this thread, and they've all had the shadowy lines. Basically, they suffer from the "dirty screen effect". I've...
Extremely bad luck, must be. Unless others are having similar issues and simply haven't noticed it yet.
The lines have been on every unit I've received, as has the bruise at the bottom middle.
Someone asked me about the dark, shadowy lines I mentioned observing on one of my BL3201PH/PT units a page or two back. I'm on my fourth unit now, and this one has the same issue as well. I'm not sure if it's normal or not, or if I'm nitpicking too hard. For a monitor in this price range...
Hey guys. I sent in a BenQ BL3201PH after it developed dead pixels (in addition to preexisting issues) sometime around last Thursday. Though I know that it's going to take more time to repair or replace the unit, does anyone know if it's possible to track the progress of the RMA? I dropped it...
An example:
I own the BenQ BL3201PH monitor. A common occurrence in this model tends to be that there is a "bruise" towards the bottom middle of the screen, a darkish region about the size of a nickel.
I'd like to use a colorimeter or similar device to produce hard data/proof on such areas...
There have been vertical shadowy lines in all three of the ones I've had, though the severity of them varied from monitor to monitor.
Everything about this monitor is fantastic except for the quality control. One had dead pixels, one had large artifacts popping up in the top left of the...
I think I may just have to live with the bruise on the second one. But, if you wouldn't mind, would you post your results for the gradient banding test on Lagom?
Mine looks a little funny, I think. Thats a picture of how it displays on this screen.
The third one is fairly terrible.
Dead pixels, bruise, etc. Its all there. It's going back. I still have panel #2, which has only the bruise. I may keep it; My question is, is the Asus PA328Q any better?
As a side note, aside from the bruise this display is easily the best I've ever used. Color, contrast, input delay, pixel response times and glow levels are all fantastic. That bruise sucks, though.
I've been exchanging directly through both Amazon and Newegg. My third arrives today. Once I take a look at it, I'll access my situation. If this third one has the bruise, I'm going to assume that they all have it and I'll have to decide whether or not I can live with that.
My first panel had a flashing rectangle in the top-left of the screen; I'm on my second one now. It has the bruise (the first one did too, and the bruise was much worse than on this one).
I received mine yesterday, and noticed the same "bruise" towards the bottom middle of the screen that two others mentioned. Its very noticeable. Do they all have this?
Now that we've verified that this monitor does indeed have Freesync capability, would an owner of this monitor mind trying out the Freesync range mod and posting their results (lowest achievable value)?

For sale is a Viewsonic VP2770 professional 8-bit monitor, utilizing WQHD resolution. The monitor is in outstanding condition, with no deadpixels, lightbleed, blemishes or physical damage whatsoever. Comes with a high-quality...
A dumb question perhaps, but this does mean that Freesync does not work, correct (as there appears to be no Freesync range defined? Or does it mean that it will work from 48-60hz?
There's a video floating around on Youtube claiming to have a Freesync compatible BL3201PT that takes no...
I've been continuing to research the problem to see if I could find anything noteworthy that might be causing my issues with the display. I haven't found much, but perhaps this is worth mentioning:
I get that fairly often. I'm running a fairly powerful setup:
OS: Windows 10 Pro
RAM: 16GB...
Whats particularly worrying to me is that another monitor that I have on hand isn't producing these negative side effects given equivalent lighting conditions/space away from monitor/etc. But, that aside, its rather difficult to change the lighting of the room, as I live in a dorm room.
My...
I had been posting about this in the thread for the monitor itself, but I've exhausted just about every possibility at this point. I did get a bit of help (establishing that the monitor does not flicker), but something is still... wrong. I've looked everywhere regarding this issue, reading...
I tried running at non-native resolutions, and have the scaling set to 175% in 4k; Thats a decent thought, though. I did consider it.
I'm honestly very confused over it. Does the zig-zagging pattern of the backlight testing results from Prad imply any sort of flickering at all, even if not...
So is it 100% flicker free, then?
For some reason, it's really been hurting my eyes. I've tried turning the brightness down to 20% and activating Reader Mode, but the VP2770 is still far and away more comfortable to stare at. I can't figure it out.
The brightness chart on PRAD has this strange...
The above links me to a Destiny gameplay video. I don't see an illustration proving the lack of PWM in this video; am I supposed to be seeing something related to this monitor? Not that I doubt you, but I'm a bit confused by the link.
Just got mine in the mail yesterday.
4k really makes a big difference. The colors are outstanding, and the input lag is negligible. I strongly recommend it to anyone looking to upgrade to 4k. I'm currently hunting for lightbleed on mine to ensure that it doesn't have any, but otherwise there...
I've read that in older PC displays, the method of scaling utilized by monitors via their built in scalers was one that used buffering, adding additional frames of input lag. I've also read that modern PC displays use real-time scaling these days from a few sources that have claimed that the...
Monitor has been released, though I've had a tough time gathering more information about it from review sites and message boards.
I've ordered one, it should arrive this week if all goes well. Newegg ships overnight packages via UPS, correct? It said that it couldn't verify my address with...
If it has PWM, it wouldnt matter if it were a 70inch, 4k Freesync 120hz display with 1ms response time for 50 cents. I -still- wouldnt buy one.
So, hopefully there isnt any (PWM).
