Yikes - That's exactly the fear on the "2 panels in 1" type of Monitor setups. Glad warranty has you covered!
I think I'm waiting for 5k to come to a single panel and single cable solution.
Not so far....hope it still comes.
I have the same monitor in 4k and would LOVE 5k at this size. Think it's the perfect size for perfect 2x (so 1440p basically, but everything silky smooth looking)
Why does every 4k thread have to involve a huge amount of bickering of it being "too small for 4k"?
So many variables to consider like
1. Distance from screen
2. Use of screen
3. GUI Scaling? On a Mac, 27-32" is simply sensational (or really any size) since their interface scaling is so...
After fees of selling it was basically taking a 40% haircut. I didn't realize I was getting into that, so totally my fault.
For those that value the Titan line at the price points they place them at, more power to them.
To me, they are overpriced - And I actually think an honest Titan...
Oh I *know* it's worth it as I use my 4k pixel doubled, but I would like a bit more usable screen real estate (without using the scaling modes).
Anyone who hasn't should go see the 5k iMac in person - Just stunning clarity and smoothness. If they made a 31" 5k iMac I might be using one, but...
That's sort of why I'm waiting on a 31 inch 5K monitor. I really only want to use it perfectly pixel doubled and 1440-ish at 31" is just right for my eyes and distance.
I agree with you.
It's what is holding me off from 5k right now (27" screens doing 2x of 2560x1440).
If LG ever comes out with the 31" 5k later this year, that will be my ticket!
I apologize, but I don't have pictures of it until the weekend.
Honestly there is simply nothing to see.
Not a single mark on it, nothing wrong - looks absolutely like brand new.

My perfect LG 31MU97 has gone for sale in the "for sale/trade" section of the site if there's any interest.
I've gone 5k (but smaller of course) for my video work. The LG has been simply sensational however.
