I've been running MCM lately on WCG on a few CPU boxes; my father (not a cancer survivor, unfortunately) received treatment at the hospital running the project many years ago.

don't know about the requirements; I'm running Win7/8...
Thanks for the history lesson tear. the GPU shift sure did occur.
and for what PG is expecting to happen, I certainly agree
...if there's one thing I've learned from the forum here; it's that [H] team members are incredibly effective (and fast) at switching around their resources :D...
+1 for sure!
they didn't say anything about tightening up the deadline times (not to say that this isn't part of their master plan), so I do wonder what is driving the increased core-count criterion...
Thanks tear, for the further suggestions and tips to get tuning done properly without toasting WUs. (instability was generally UNSTABLE MACHINE)
Haven't got time right now so will run stock clocks till I do… even so, 6172s are a nice boos from 6128s!
I'd hope that the police would be smart enough to target only those folks who were stealing electricity and that he's paying for his!
(though it makes me wonder what the heat signature of his place is like, say, from a police chopper)
Speaking from ignorance, I'd welcome having an update to the guide to include all these very handy commands!
no matter how I stop FAH, the next time I start it the program does say something about the previous termination of the core was improper so I guess there's no 'polite' way of shutting...
You are of course completely correct; the previous WU was restarted.
I'll just continue folding because I wasn't that far along with it and now that the rig is firing on all 48 cylinders I'll be back to where I was within the hour!
many thanks tear!

are there any downsides to using "pkill fah6"? I seemed to remember having an issue with it once so I stuck with ctrl-C (but I won't use that anymore!)
no more system monitor for me!
if I try the restore method with the previous backup, what happens to the current WU? does it run after the...
Title says it all -- whatever it is you told me to do, tear, it totally fixed it.
The TPFs on my new 8103 WU are now less than 10 minutes :)
thanks tear!

Thanks for you quick reply, tear, and your suggestions!
SSD is plugged into SATA port 1. Not 0. Don't know why I did that.
fahdiag has been run while folding and is here: (let me know if I did that properly)

Hi -- I'm running a 4P AMD system and just swapped 6172s for my entry level 6128s.
Linux N00b ;)
[H] Bios at 231 refclock for 2.4 GHz. I might have done something not quite right when flashing my board because only certain specific ref clocks will "take" (persist across reboot after...
I'll confirm that I have an EVGA nVidia 660 ti (65 K PPD) and a Sapphire AMD 7970 non-GE (95K PPD) running on the same motherboard (gigabyte) with a low-power CPU (as per AndyE's recommendation) and they run Core17 fine.
AMD had to be in slot 1 and I had to start the nVidia card folding...
...didn't someone, somewhere (and I can't remember) say something about F@H only using the shaders on the GPU so the power is usually around 70-80% of the card's rated max?
