That's too bad, I have to say your symptoms don't seem to be the usual ones. I have had tempory freezes at times with IBT but it's a very demanding software and take most of the resources it can get a hold of when running. The freezes typically are only temporary a few seconds here and there or...
I see you have a lot of peripherals and RGB action. First I would disconnect anything you don't need to run the PC.
Have you installed AURA? It has been troublesome to date. I see they have released yet another version which might be worth a try if you're planning on using it. For me the ONLY...
Good that you sorted oit out. I would check on asus site with the serial number and see if the ROG board still has warranty.
In BIOS there's still a load on the CPU and as I remember the 4790K could be a hot CPU a lot would depend on what voltage the CPU is receiving on auto settings
That H60 runs off of a fan header correct? Do you have it connected to the AIO header on the CHVI ? That header will keep the pump running on high where others might not. If you get the missing CPU fan warning just disable it in BIOS in monitor section
I wouldn't worry too much about RB, It can be a mess at times. So many libraries need to be in line for it to work. If it's passing everything else I would chalk it up to a bad RB. Even on a clean OS it can be hard to get running at times.
Here's another hany and quick test. It's IBT but has...
If you're still at 4.0 I would suspect the CPU/cache as the culprit. Try using Prime 95 29.1 set to custom with 13000MB memory allocation. If you drop threads it's the memory. If BS/crash then cpu need more volts or less speed depending on thermals. For my 24/7 I'm pretty thorough for stability...
This is so true and not many have the patience or know how to work with a finicky kit of ram or should I say a kit the Ryzen IMC just doesn't like. I do a lot of benching so playing in BIOS is part of my hobby and I have good Samsung ram. I purposely bought the cheapest set of DDR4 3000 ( Team...
#1 yes but CPU might overheat and shut down
#2 no
If you never removed the cooler I can't see any reason the CPU could have "shifted" I just thought maybe you had bad contact on the pins
I was just curious since it seems odd that you cleaned it out and now it doesn't work. As if something is loose. You said you removed the CMOS jumper. Do you mean "moved" it to pins 2 and 3? That motherboard has a feature called USB BIOS flashback with might be worth a shot as well. You can...
I have a guide here for anyone interested in installing Win7 on Ryzen http://www.overclockers.com/forums/showthread.php/781091-AMD-Ryzen-Win7-ISO-Guide
I find it odd that you couldn't install with a PS/2 port. I did one on an MSI SLI PLUS and went just fine using only the mouse. Used the...
I will agree there were some ASUS specific issues but alot of it still has to do with Ryzen/AMD. I think a lot of the issues as I said already come from the RAM. I have two very good sets of Samsung "B" G.Skills and haven't had too many issue with the CHVI using them. I intentionally purchased a...
I'd blame your ram, the IC under the spreader play a big role in Ryzen stability/ability. You might want to try the 9945 BIOS i posted above see if it helps.
From my experience, my first sample died with the "BIOS is Updating" bug and ASUS rushed me out a second. After learning of the SOC voltage issue and understanding it a bit better, on auto CHVI sets too high SOC voltage especially when overclocking. Setting it manually from 0.9-1.15V depending...
If you do plan on sticking with AMD I wouldn't get the 9590, pick something out of the regular 8xxx series and a good air cooler like the NH-D15. The 9590 gets way too hot for typical users
Now that all they're making is Intel boards they're starting to skimp out on those too. Just my observations of course but you can get some nice chintzy plastic pieces to make up for the other issues.
I realize things should run at stock but 32Gb of ram is a hard pill to swallow for these FX and not tested by any mobo manufacturer AFIK. I'm sure it needs some tinkering to get it just right.
Hopefully it is the board. Just to put it out there when I'm benching and only so so stable. The USB is the first to show problems typically related to memory or IMC settings/voltage. Not saying it isn't a bad chip on the board , I'm just putting it out there.
Yeah that's a lot of traffic, no doubt a bit of an extra bump was needed. These FX struggle with a lot of ram to begin with, at least you're not trying to run them at 2400 Ha ha
Yeah you were right the NB voltage is 1.1 but the NB HT voltage which is how it's labeled on my board is 1.2. If the volt bump fixes things I'd be content with it for now.
Thanks for the awesome give away.
I like small things since it's easier to sneak them past the wife. Ha ha
I don't have to answer that question " Is that another computer thingie you have there?"
Seriously though that would make a great HTPC/Gamer along with a G3258, small and fit's nicely on...
I would still go with a six core, we don't know what the OP was going to use it for but he did mention speed. You would stand a much better chance of getting a 6 or even 4 core up to a decent ( gaming) speed on that board than you would an 8 core.
Sorry, got a great deal on a 290x Matrix.
For future reference though the best way to ship to Canada is USPS.
UPS just kills us with fees so don't use them.
This guy's on the right track, I think a 6 core FX would be more suited to that board. It is rather light in the power department. I feel the OP would have a better all round experience with something less power hungry.
With this I agree, I own both and I know what the differences are but if you take a casual user/ gamer they won't see it. cssorkinman did a pretty good job in my opinion over here at OCN, comparing the DC vs the FX...
I tried that and many other combinations. Tried for hours actually and that was done on my first run through. There's always another day. I know they can handle the voltage i had the FX6350 just over 2.0.
This one just seemed to crash sooner if I had the voltage much higher. Not sure what to try...
