I love osx and can't stand using windows for anything other than gaming, I do not want to use my macbook for any serious gaming, but having some more horse power under the hood for casual gaming would be nice. I just mainly want to know if the 1000 bucks is going to get me much real world...
I currently have a 13 inch macbook pro, 2009 with a core 2 duo, 250gb hdd, and 4gb of ram. I was considering grabbing a ssd and a 8 gig ram kit for it. How ever I am really wanting to just sell it * any ideas what its worth in mint condition? * and get an i5 or i7 15 inch MBPc.
I am not...
Here's some updated pictures, installed a custom loop, GTX670FTW and some UV. I made a beauty plate for the back of the case infront of the motherboard with some plexi and spraypaint. Beyond that I added a blue fan to the back of the case. I cut a haggard window in the case free hand, and have a...
Okay using precision x I was able to get some very interesting results. First off I have settled at a +100mhz GPU core to put it at 1185mhz, and +350mhz memory clock.
Now those results are less than I was hoping for, but that aside, I have noticed even when settings set so high to crash in...
I have a new side panel door coming that I will be taking a water jet for a custom window. I am thinking either a nice rectangular hole or possibly an apple logo, a large one.
Also have some blue sata cables, and two uv lights coming that should really make the case pop. Think I'm going to snag...
The hose is still sort of kinked, just from being zip tied for so long. But the air pocket is gone so there is flow through it now. I havent been doing much gaming as I usually only find time for that on the weekends. My plugs will be here tomorrow.
Yea I have the computer open in front of my feet within eye shot, I keep a flash light on the desk to look down at it from time to time, doesn't seem to be in any of letting loose. Worse case I have another identical motherboard and I need an excuse to buy a titan anyways ;-p
Can someone explain why? If it was going to leak wouldn't it of by now? I am keeping an eye on it but its bone dry.
If the kinking of the hose and possible pressure build up ( which I dont believe theres hardly any pressure in that line, theres a very eveident air pocket at the topmost part...
It leaked a very small amount of coolant during intial filling of the loop, nothing got anywhere except on a papertowel. The rigs been runing now for about 5 hours I suppose, just got done playing about an hour of dirt 3, highest the gpu got was 48 degrees.
What you said about the preasure...
Heres some almost finished photos. Still need to figure out how to hide the wiring on the floor of the case, thinking I will have to make some sort of false floor out of plexiglass and paint it to match the rest of the blue. Anyways on to the photos.
And a shot of the...
Ran into a small snag. The ebay seller didnt include the plugs for the water block... I used two of the plugs that came with my radiator but they leaked. So I used two barbs and some tubing, and kinked it so water would be forced to go through the gpu block. Is this an acceptable way to run it...
Couple small updates, I made a plexiglass cover for the upper tray to hide the ugly that was my PSU and Optical, along with the cables.
I have a lot of water cooling stuff coming along with a new GTX670FTW, going with a blue theme. The color I used on the plexi is very close to the Gigabyte...
I may be biased because I run a Verizon Store, how ever I can not stress enough to you, the importance of NOT going online for your phones, also stay away from Costco, BestBuy, Walmart, Target ect....
First things first, MOST Verizon stores except corporate stores, will match all the prices...
The shortest 240 I could find was 10.9 inches tall, and from the floor of the case to the hard drive bay, is 11 inches, very tight fit if even possible, and I do not want to mount it else where, besides that the 180 has more surface area than a 240 supposedly
Yea i ordered my raystorm off ebay for like 53 bucks free shipping and my 35x for 84,99 free ship off ebay, I just used frozen cpu to build my card and cross referanced each part, those that I could find cheaper I bought else where. I bought only my rad, reserviour, fittings, tubing and coolant...
I just ordered a GTX 670 FTW with a Koolance waterblock installed, and now need to order the rest of my system so I can use the card asap.
For the best use of space I have decided that I will be going with a 180MM radiator, and a Silverstone air penetrator fan in a push set up...
Thanks so much for the input.
My i5 3570k is currently at 4.3ghz. Also thought it was worth mentioning that gimp is ran in OSX, as is everything else I do besides game. Im thinking I should just grab myself a new video card, POSSIBLY another 8gb of the same ram I have, and then put together a...
I forgot to mention I do occasionally use gimp to edit photos, rarely but it is something I like to do, givin that would you make any changes to the recommendations you've made? The program seems to take 5 seconds or more to apply filters and things of that nature, would like it as close to...
I forgot to mention that I am running a GTX 650 1gb ddr5 card right now.
I was looking at upgrading current system, how ever the mobo doest support SLI.. It kind of just snow balled from there.
If I threw one GTX680, 32GB of DDR3 ram inside my machine, would you think there would be a...
1) What will you be doing with this PC? Gaming? Photoshop? Web browsing? etc
General Use, and Gaming
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping included?
Not really concerned, I do love a good deal, but I assume a soft cap would be 3k
3) Which country do you live in? If the U.S, please tell us...
I am looking to build another rig, this time big boy style. I want to get into water cooling with a custom loop, cooling the GPU and CPU, and really have slick looking system when its all said in done, that will run through day to day tasks in OSX great, and boot into Win for some serious...
What would I? How about what have I. OSX is my Daily. I triple boot with 10.8.3, Win7 Ultimate, and Ubuntu 13.04. I use OSX 99% of the time. When I have an itch to play a game other than CounterStrike source, I fire up Win7, and when I just wanna fart around in unfamiliar territory I jump into...
Thanks I appreciate the compliments. I still have to figure out how to tidy up the cables, theres just not a lot of room in this case that isn't right up front and in your face.
My hackintosh
Probably the worst case in the world for cable management, but looks great with the side panel on lol. Any input greatly appreciated. ( btw triple booted with OSX 10.8.3, Win7 Ultimate, & Ubuntu 13.04
Got my Front I/O wire made up to convert the stock Mac panel's wiring harness to regular ATX header pins, also stuck a HDD LED light in the front, hidden from view unless illuminated, should be able to see it under the DVD drive. Also cut up the stock power supply from the Power Mac and re...
EDIT--- New pictures down at the bottom of the page!
I just about have my Hackintosh's new case done, pretty happy with how it came out.
Heres some pictures, still have to do my front I/O cable to get rid of the old power switch from my last case hanging out of the back.
