    4770s Question

The 4770S and 4770K are identical, except that the K has an unlocked multiplier. The S version is clocked lower than the regular 4770 so that's why the TDP is lower. I chose the 3770S in my build, I have no performance issues at all

GPU inserted == failure to boot

Is the motherboard able to POST? You probably don't have a motherboard speaker, I'd get one of those before I start RMAing things

    ASUS GTX 670 DirectCU Mini

Hmm, just one 8-pin power connector, vs the regular 6+6. Looks like this may be underclocked to deal with the smaller cooler?

    SFF for TV/Speaker setup

If you want to emulate games, you will need to invest in a great CPU, not so much GPU. I'd suggest a Core i7 because of hyperthreading and a GPU like the 7770 maybe. I owned the Silverstone GD06, I liked it a lot. Since you don't need/want an ODD, you will be able to use a larger CPU cooler...

    SG05 Build (Or SG06...?) - Opinions Wanted!

Thank you, sir. Glad I could inspire you a bit! You won't block the PCI-E slot with a closed loop system, but you will not be able to fit a 3.5" HDD or possibly the CD-ROM tray.

Not really a method, I basically put a pea-sized amount of thermal paste on the CPU, then attempted to fasten the cooler down without moving around too much. AMD sockets are much easier to work with. What is the best way to install a cooler with the Intel socket?

No, just Prime 95 running. Also thinking of replacing the case intake fan with a PWM model, I'd like my idle temp to be lower. I will say that I am NOT a fan of the Asus AI Suite - it reports the CPU temperature from the socket and not from the cores. This causes a ~20C difference. While the...

So I swapped the fan around and re-routed some wiring. Not too happy with my temps, wondering if I need to re-seat the heatsink. Idle: ~43C Load (Prime 95): ~70C http://i.imgur.com/zZSN080.jpg http://i.imgur.com/xbUJr9m.jpg http://i.imgur.com/sdjbyOW.jpg http://i.imgur.com/SsqSNND.jpg Thoughts?

I put my SG06 build together, uploaded a bunch of photos for anyone to check out. Album here: http://imgur.com/a/J1QnJ A few highlights: Not too fond of the load temps, thinking about flipping the CPU fan upwards and moving the extra PSU wires to another location so that I can blow...

    Thermalright AXP-100

I just bought the Samuel 17 and a GELID Silent 12 PWM fan to cool an i7-3770S. I think I made the right choice, can't wait to install! Also, that's one hell (sic) of a review from ChipHell, Awesome photos.

Thanks for the help. Last question, do you know where I can find the AXP-140 for sale? NCIX US has them on backorder, but it comes with the fan, which won't fit in the SG06 with a 3.5" HDD in place anyway

    [YourNewCase] SUGO ... 5! GO!

Does the AXP-140 work with the 1155 socket? Thermalright's website says 1156, and NCIX says it will work with 1155.

Hey fellas, first time poster here Putting together an SG06 build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/suZe Thoughts? I read that the Big Shruiken would interfere with a video card, and the AXP-140 barely fits. Anyway, this build is basically a HTPC on steroids, and I'm paring it with a 4-bay...
