Question? Why did you installed the 15.7.1 and then update to 16.12.2??? why didn't you just install the Relive drivers from the get go?
Is there a reason why?
I could see a couple of reason why you are experiencing some difficulties by doing what you did there.
I don't think that the card is throttling per say (too hot = lower clock)... more like it's going at its default 2D clock for some reason? Are you playing Fallout 4 in window mode or in fullscreen mode?
They already remove the fm/am radio chip from most of the phones now... and now they want to remove the headphone Jack...
I'm all for technology and advancing forward with it... but I guess I'll keep my aging Samsung Galaxy SII with its 32Gig sdcard and its true radio tuner (not over the...
Indeed, diablo III is fun NOW, but don't you rembember the state of that game at launch??? Everybody was bitching and complaining. It took a lot of patches make the players happy...
What I get out of that is that AMD decided to use 10 for desktop part and 11 for laptop part?
That's why we have the Polaris 10 and the Vega 10 on one side and then we have the Polaris 11 (which is smaller and colder running) on the other side.... perhaps we will see a Vega 11 too.... who knows
Actually, they're freaking great when comes the time to reverse engineer a product... it's just that they want to sell the product at a lower price than the original, so they'll find the *best* way to replicate the product (look wise) at a lower manufacturing price...
I worked at a company that...
Well their entire society is based on replicating everything perfectly... Their writing, their culture, the way they used to do things (redoing something 1000 of times until it's perfect...) So they could basically launch the nex t iPhone and it would be better than the last one OR better than...
yeah it great actually, I use it on my desktop and on my laptop which are both on my desk. And I like the copy/past function, makes sending files from one computer to the other easy as hell lol
if both computers are on the same network and are on windows, I use a software solution rather than an hardware one : http://www.microsoft.com/en-ca/download/details.aspx?id=35460
I'm running a Radeon HD5450 in my HTPC and it's decoding blurays without any problems
my guess is that any card from both AMD and nVidia launched after my HD5450 can do the job fine
It wouldn't be "locked out of GCN 1.2 per say... they would "only" need to remove the GDDR5 "hardware" and put in the HBM "hardware"... yeah I know, I make it sounds easy and it's not... unless they build Tonga with this in mind from the start... hence the weird configuration of the chip compare...
Same for me... I'm thinking more and more that Fury = full Tonga...
The R9 285 was a test for its bigger brother Fury....
So I'm going for Fury = GCN 1.2
Don't forget though... the 4096-bit bus (1024-bit to each stacks...)
maybe the GDDR5 would have perform better (when overclocking them) on a bigger bus...
Well it's not because someone does it that it makes it ok (at least for me)
especially in the mid/top tier line up... you want to rebrand a mid tier card for your next low tier, fine... but the rest is dumb in my mind
On the R9 390/390X case, if nothing has really changed, why even bother with...
Lol I never called my Radeon 64DDR VIVO a Radeon 7200, even if the drivers called it like that, it felt like a downgrade in my mind at that time :o
rebrand suck ass
For your info.
The first ever rebrand that I heard of was the Radeon 32/64DDR as a Radeon 7000/7200 when ATI released the Radeon 7500/8500...
Seems a long time ago!
I do agree with you...
The R9 300 serie doesn't seem right... I don't know who decided to go with that @ AMD but he failed miserably...
Why even change the name... They shouldn't have bothered and kept the same name and just release the Fury and the Fury X alone... It would have cost them and...
I guess you're right especially since Amd's website makes no mention of the new card yet... They only mention the E3 stuff....
same for xfx website....
My first ever custom PC was with a t-bird and an A7V kt-133.... Had to put the soundblaster on the third PCI and assign the IRQ 9 to it... Or I had BSOD because of some bullshit with the soundcard and the AGP slot... Good times... Had to flash custom BIOS to the motherboard, and to deal with...
Well, 390X is not going to be brand new tech... that's a given.... the best they could have done with it would have be a CGN 1.2 GPU like tonga...
Deep down I hope for something REALLY new for 2016 though
well maybe not a disappointement, but let's face it, the tech in R300 is pretty old now (considering that it's still CGN 1.x) yeah, they've updated it, but there was no major change made since the Radeon 7xxx series....
They have to have worked on something new since then.... don't know but...
don't remember who, but I thought that the someone from [H] said that the AMD Greenland R400 we're supposed to be the "real" new graphic cards in 2016... so you think that AMD is going to launch the R300 series this summer, then launch the R300 refresh and then launch the R400 in less than a...
yeah but why "stop" at 208W... I mean, if they can output more Watts (by upping the core clocks & memory clocks) to gain more performance, why not do it then?
Like pushing the consommation to like ~ 230-240W and just be on par with or destroy the 980 cards...
I don't know why, but the fact...
Well they didn't called them Hawaii... so we "know" that they're not the same GPU.
Someone said in this thread that making the transfert from a fab to another one would mean that they'd need to work on the GPU itself to accomodate the new fab... let's hope they took this opportunity to iron...
What I find absurd about the way you "talk and argument" is that when someone corner you in a small little corner, you just decide to leave its reply alone and not say anything about it.... Just like the link you provided from tomshardware.... TS pointed out the things that didn't make sens...
