What does word processing and similar tasks have to do with the refresh rate? If 30Hz is fine for movies, consoles and pretty much everything besides hardcore gaming then why wouldn't it be suitable for workspace?
Please be conscious and think about what you type ;)
Good deal:http://www.ebay.com/itm/Gigabyte-GA-EP45-UD3P-LGA-775-Core-2-Duo-Core-2-Quad-1333-SLI-Motherboard-/111048090222?pt=Motherboards&hash=item19dafb626e
IMO this EP45-UD3P is a monster overclocker on 775 CPU's especially with that C2D E8400, you should be able to overclock it to 4.2GHz...
Your board looks capable of a reasonable overclock, but it really takes a bit more "special" of a P55/1156 mobo to get to 4GHz. That's why pretty much all X58 boards can push 4GHz on Nehalem i7's.
I was able to run a Xeon X3440 (i7 860S) at 4Ghz on an AsRock P55 Deluxe, but it took A LOT of...
You want the 3570K. Only the K-variant CPU's have an unlocked multiplier which is pretty much the only thing you need to change to overclock these processors.
The MSI GD65 looks like a great option. Here are some other viable options for your motherboard...
The AM2/+/AM3/+ backwards socket life was great, but so was LGA775. Only problem was that it was necessary for Intel to change the pin count on their new parts because of the radical design change in LGA1366 CPU's and especially LGA1156 was IIRC the first Intel chipset with a IMC.
I'm looking for two Gigabyte LGA1155 motherboards with any of the following chipsets: P67, H67, Z68, or H61. The only other condition is that I need boards with the older Hybrid-EFI Gigabyte TouchBios instead of the UEFI that comes standard with all boards as of present. If you've updated your...
Alright well a 1155 quad core is an i5 as you know. Unless you want a i5 2310 or something along those lines you'd be better served specifying it in the OP before another person with similar goodies as me comes along. Otherwise, your other option is an i3.
Selling my 3570K currently running in my system. I've had it approximately since the beginning of the year and it's a pretty respectable overclocker although I haven't come near to pushing it because I can run @ 4.8GHz with a tiny vcore bump. The chip is currently running at stock speeds as...
I got the same thing, but this has happened for me once before so I didn't expect to get another full year completely free this time around. I'm pretty sure it was back in December when they were sending me emails weekly saying that I only had a month left and I had to pay $29 to renew for a...
Wow, this didn't last long at all. My Phantom has performed admirably and with some mods accommodates my watercooling loop perfectly. Only thing is that I've upgraded everything besides it. Oh, well I guess I get to keep the $150 or so I was gonna spend on the 800D. :D
It blows that it seems to...
Well if you bought another setup and sold your old parts it would be the same deal. You paid what you paid for it, not what you paid for it minus your old parts. I can understand the mobo and ram offsetting some of the cost because it was with the 980x you bought, but not the 920. It was still a...
You should just move up to a 1155 Ivy. Along with the extra CPU horsepower you get PCI-E 3.0 too although x8 3.0 slots are just as fast as the x16 2.0 slots you're on now. More than enough bandwidth regardless.
Why the hell do you need to do all that?
Socket covers come off easily by picking them up on the ends where the two little raised tabs with holes on the bottom are. If you're having issues getting it off as I've described, if you use a little bit of caution you can even insert a small flathead...
That's odd that the debug led would have an error code for malware. I've never heard of a debug led spitting out codes while the system runs besides FF (fully functional) or similar, let alone for malware.
