I have this monitor and I have this problem. I play quite a few 640x480 and alot of 800x600 games and they are all 4:3 games, yet this monitor scales them all to be in 16:10 aspect ratio (meaning it streches them when in fullscreen), I know my GPU scaling can fix this problem, but I would prefer...
I didnt know that I didnt have a sound card, so which sound cards do you recommend?
Also, I was thinking of picking up one of the following 2.1 sets
Jamo P102
Klipsch ProMedia 2.1 THX
Teufel Concept D 500 THX
Razer Mako THX
Corsair SP2500
Which one of these would be the most suited?
I already have a receiver, for the 5.1 setup for my TV.
But for my PC, I just dont want anything too big like receiver, new sound card etc... I want to use stereo with sub (2.1) and thats all
I dont know which sound card I have, all I see is Realtek High Definition Audio and NVIDIA High...
2.1 Phillips computer speakers set, its not horribly bad but it sure as hell isnt great, the two speakers sound is muffled and the subwoofer wether there is explosions or not its pretty much silent, but its not surprising since the set was retailed for like 60 bucks back in 2011...
I found information on the W2420R:

I looked on google poland, some online store is selling for about 1800. Grainess never bothered me, I have used an LG monitor (L1730S) for 7 years almost every day and it has never bothered me.
I didn't get it yet, most of the online stores with a relatively affordable price (around 1300) won't ship to my country. I only found one place that charge full RRP + shipping and all in all, it is not too far off from the asking price of the Quato and HP, so yeah...
Yeah it is! Looks nice, huh? But anyway, I looked around and it seems that LG never released this model in the USA, only in Asia/Korea (I think) and Europe.
The CG Eizo?
Good luck with that, I have heard many complaints about Hazro quality control (or lack of therefore). I was thinking of getting one myself since it is one of the rare makers (if not only) who offer 27" screen size with 16:9 AND qhd (2560 x 1440), plus it is cheap. But they uses...
Also I wanted to add, the HP has all the connectivity, and the LG has HDMI and DVI, while the Quato lacks HDMI and only has DVI and DisplayPort, my computer has one HDMI entry, but I have no idea if my computer has DisplayPort connectivity or not.
The average input lag as measured by Prad is 13,6ms for the Quato, 24ms for the HP and 25ms for the LG.
Games are a concern but they are not the main concern, I'd prefer a monitor that does good to great in every field, be it movies or video games.
I feel the same way as this guy actually...
On the racing pictures comparison the HP picture is the clearest out of the three but it isn't sharp and there is alot of what looks like aliasing, while on the LG there is zero aliasing but it is blurry, even the LG picture of the flag has what looks like the kind of motion blur 'smearing...
900 USD? That's almost like 700 EUR, I'd buy it in a heartbeat if I could find it at that price. The only place I found that would ship it to my country was selling it for the RRP (around 1700 EUR).
All in all, for me the Dreamcolor would cost me 270 EUR more than the W2420R.
As a proud owned of the Sony KDL46X4500 I can attest to the complete superiority of the FULL RGB Tri-Color LED over the WCG-CCFL or anything CCFL related really for that matter.
Also XoR I looked at the comparison pics at the prad review site and it seems that compared to the Quato and the HP...
I can get the W2420R for 2300 USD (it's become very rare).
The CG243W for 1900 USD
And the LP2480zx for 2640 USD
What do you think?
Also games aren't too important, if the Eizo performance for games so unbearable, I will just use another monitor just for games, I don't play too many games on...
Download this video review of the LP2480zx please and let me know what you think:

The video is showing games and movies being played on the LP2480zx.
Also, can't you tell me anything about the W2420R?
They just ship overseas to the waegukin whatever comes out of the factory, you may get lucky and receive a perfect panel... or not and even if you do get a perfect panel, nothing stops it from becoming defective or just dying on you, then after that what do you do?
