Do you guys think my Silverstone strider 1kw 80 plus silver can handle 3x 680's?
Problem is i may get buyers remorse as 2x 480's rip everything up at my 1920x1080 res.
My Silverstone Strider 1KW 80 plus silver is inaudiable even at full load pushing huge overclocks on my cpu (5.0ghz and (900mhz 480's).
This psu can manage a peak of 1130watts! according to johnny guru.
The 480 is a monster, if you can grab a good aftermarket cooler, such as a Gelid icy vision or a Artic cooling solution.
These gpu's can handle some beastly OC's and also show the difference massively in fps, and scores.
If you can get a GTX 480, do so.
These cards had issues, however they are built like tanks and can take some extreme abuse from overclocking.
The 500 series has weaker vrm's and cannot cope like the older gen 400 series.
I have managed 935mhz core on one of my GTX 480's with 1302mv and air...
A GTX 480 will eat most games alive up to 2560x1600.
These cards were made specifically for higher res gaming at the time of release.
The Vram may be limiting in a few titles such as, ARMA II/ GTA IV/ Metro 2033 with DOF and 4xAA at 2560x1600 res.
Not alot else will make a 480 struggle with...
