Yes, but I bet you didn't expect someone to suggest the watercooled model. As far as air cooled, I haven't seen one and I wouldn't expect to. The designs are either one fan that blows from the back end of the card over the heatsink and out the slot bracket (ref), or there are 1or2 fan models...
I'll answer for him. He's using Bezel Correction. He starts with the standard 5760x1080 (3x 1920x1080) and the width of his monitor bezels has him creating that 6048x1080 res so everything lines up correctly between the monitors (1&2 and 2&3).
I use 6010x1080 and apply 125 pixels to account...
Same with the 680, Newegg's base is CA and it seems corporate works on PST.
Quite a logical thought process.
lol, madeness if you already have it imo
Sucker born every day, glad you found one :)
rofl, in fact, I'm just giddy, let them eat mud :D
Thanks for the review [H], I knew it would be up when I got to work.
Outstanding chart Nick, thanks. However as I was reading through the comments, I couldn't help but to wonder what were the game settings for those comparisons. [H] doesn't just use the same settings for every card, they...
Please report your findings :)
Thanks to everyone contributing to this thread with their own testing and results
Thanks Mav. Yep, you're seeing the thread for what it is.
EDIT: Does anyone know how to do a strikethrough here at [H]? I want to strike the Crysis 2 stuff on top...
Buying more hardware instead of streamlining the efficiency of ones current hardware is one approach. Try turning Aero off, then see if you can apply 2xMSAA and be playable. If so, then this thread was worth it.
EDIT: nvm, you're not hitting the wall on vram, so you probably didn't use 2xMSAA...
That newegg auto notify list will always be too late for you to act the way these things fly out the door, you'll have to be more dedicated than that, otherwise, blow off the crazy and just get the 7970.
Damn fine mem oc'r, nice draw of the straw.
I can tip you on a couple things. First, you have an SC+, so you likely won't be able to apply the offsets ppl with vanillas are, however, you won't need to as your stock clocks already should be higher than vanillas. Second, throwing huge clocks...
lol, there is a word that defines this statement...
"Speak for yourself"
but
"and so will droves of other price-conscious gamers."
err, those droves that you're now speaking for.
/just saying
The 670 certainly has some potential, can't wait for full reviews.
If you're going to do 280 to 480, make sure you're thinking 480 to 680 then, as we all know the 580 was just Fermi fixed.
err...no offense taken :D, but I'd prefer 30-35% from 580 to 680 (measured actually).
And speaking with your wallet is a totally respectable position as they have had some shady practices and they owe DanielK a lot, thankfully the users show Daniel the appreciation he deserves.
However, the Recon software is a 180 for Creative, this software shouldn't be lumped in with the...
Anybody that skips to the end and then commences to bitching, congrats, you entered into it with high bias.
You missed the descriptions for gaming sound experience which is barely touched on in the bottom line. The software (bloat) is much improved and has a low system footprint, Earl...
Oh goodness, QF the F'n Truth.
I was expecting that the clocks wouldn't get hit too much due to the lower TDP of the 680 and they made a work of art to boot. No doubt the most powerful single card coming up imo. Can't wait to see the numbers.
Entertaining how ppl don't see your resolved post, might want to put it on the OP.
Great offsets, but what are the effective clock speeds? e.g. 1250MHz
sigh, I guess I have some chips left in the bag ;), but it's running empty.
What I find hilarious is people telling me what I'm calling other people, I didn't call you anything (however Activate: AMD clearly called you a fanboy and possibly an idiot, so take labels up with him).
I don't...
You can't call a clear winner in OCing because there isn't any guarantee that your card will get any OC. In general the potential is tied with most vanilla 7970 and 680 getting between 1050 - 1250MHz.
Headroom is a perception, you have to look at the clock numbers.
Stock 7970 925MHz - OC...
