After download and unzip : just have to rename the extracted folder :data_16.07f" to "data" and then "sh /var/web-gui/data/tools/linux/napp-it" works fine !
I was able to import a pool which was created on OpenIndiana under Nappit in 2012 ! :)
no folder "linux" in /var/web-gui/data/tools/
"minihttpd" is in /var/web-gui/data/tools/ubuntu/etc
there is a file called "napp-it" in /var/web-gui/data/tools/ubuntu/etc_init.d/
I'm trying to set up Ubuuntu 16.04.1 with nappit in root
... but : sh /var/web-gui/data/tools/linux/napp-it
-> doesn't work : "Can't open /var/web-gui/data/tools/linux/napp-it"
cd /var/web-gui/data/tools
=> there is no linux folder ! :/
(but an Ubuntu folder)
... so, it is impossible to start...
Adobe Premiere CC 2015 : 4K h264 = disaster to play with Dual Xeon 2670v2, 64 GB, GTX 970 4GB

I have
-> LSI HBA 9211-8i firmware p18 IT
-> LSI MegaRed 9271-8i with 1B cache
... is it possible to flash the firmware of the HP 24 ports Expander 468406-B21 ?
.... or I need a HP Smart Controller P410 512 MB ?
Working with huge files, in video 4k ProRes 422 : nothing less than 680 MB per files, with SMB sharing, will L2ARC really improve reads?
Ram : more than 128 Go is reliable with ZFS ?
Regarding to these charts, what could be the best drive for ZFS in
10x vdev mirored
4x RaidZ2
... for a workload corresponding to 12 clients accessing / reading / writing simultaneous streams at the same times, each 524Mb/s (video editing, 4k ProRes 422)
But still no RDMA, no SMB Multichannel as in SMB 3.1 :/
(which works with Ubuntu 14.04 / Debian + ZoL)
You talk about Mac...
-> Mavericks (10.9) it is SMB2,
-> Yosemite (10.10) & El Capitan (10.11) it is SMB3

Enabling ACL :
# zfs set acltype=posixacl storage/tank
If I wanted to set the acltype back to stock configuration (default), I would do the following (Thanks to DeHackEd from #zfsonlinux freenode channel for letting me know about this):
# zfs inherit acltype storage/tank

Still with Samba / CIFS on Xubuntu 14.04 + ZoL
Gea : on Nappit website is written : " ACL extension (with additional user settings, not working on Linux)"
On Xubuntu 14.04 + latest ZoL, I can manage ACL extension, and then manage on windows the rights to a samba shared folder :
zfs set...
Same configuration on ZFSguru and Xubuntu : no destroy pool, just imported.
Same hardware : no SSD cache, same amount of RAM
Happy but I will accurate tests with Win 2012r2 or 8.1 pro, SMB sharing an OmniOS iSCSI volume through InfiniBand.
... on a hardsystem

... on a Virtual Machine in...
Same configuration, the ZFS Pool created on ZFSGuru has been imported on Xubuntu + ZoL + Napp-it.
Same test with a zfs filesystem shared and mounted onto a drive letter, with samba :
Write : 1080 MB/s
Read : 640 MB/s
NB : NFS on Microsoft is only avaible on Enterprise version !!!

-> http://www.howtogeek.com/195447/you-cant-use-them-8-features-only-available-in-windows-8-enterprise/

So => SMB share, not NFS !!
I will do it

No need snaps with my kind of use (collaborative video shared files server)

1. if I want to test iSCSI + cluster software, what is you recommendation ?
... GlusterFS ?
... BTRFS ?
2. Only Windows Enterprise version have the capability to enable NFS, not the Pro

.... so if...
Okok.
So, what could be the best workaround to have a powerful ZFS file server with SMB share for Windows clients ?
Xubuntu 14.04 + ZoL ?
OmniOS + Napp-it, connected with Infiniband to a Windows 2008r2 / 2012r2 server + Starwind Virtual San ?
One time, we talk together about a shared server...
