Believe it or not GTX580 Classified can handle BF4 very well. I am running everything on high with somewhat respectable frame rate. I am only tempted since I have about $800 to blow. The only thing that is preventing me from jumping on 780 ti is that, I have no idea how much the Maxwell chip...
Hey All
I am wondering what to do....
I plan on upgrading my card and not sure what to get.
I would like to stay with Nvidia chipset.
I currently have GTX580 Classified Ultra and GTX460 on my rig.
I am running a two monitors with it. I running a 27' Asus 1080p monitor as auxiliary and...
No his rig is fairly new... its only 2 month old (I think). He has i7 Haswell CPU and Z87 Mobo from Gigabyte with 1200Watt PSU, I think he has 16 gb of DDR3 Memory
not really
AOC q2963Pm Black 29" 5ms HDMI UltraWide (21:9) LED Backlight LCD Monitor, IPS Panel 300 cd/m2
resolution is 2560 x 1080
its actually a nice monitor for the price i paid
Yea i told him that. Since the price of regular 780 dropped considerable its more bang for you buck.
On a unrelated question from my buddy issue...
I just got AOC 29 inch ultrawide monitor from newegg (got it at $380 sale). I have 580 classified ultra running on my rig. I noticed my graphics...
Ohhhh. What do think its better way? For him to get another gtx780 or sell his current 780 and pick up a new 780 ti? I already advise him against the Titan. But the memory is tempting. Does the memory make a difference ion 780 ti? I noticed that even at 3gb, its a faster ram.
Hey guys
Just a quick question regarding GTX 780.
My buddy just got a GTX 780 about two months ago.
He wants to know if he can get a GTX 780 ti and "SLI" it with the regular GTX 780.
My response was that, you can but will under perform the 780 ti. Assuming that SLI will force the 780 ti...
I picked up a GTX580 Classified Ultra from my friend the other day:). He picked up a 7000 Radeon card. Wow the card is lot bigger then my 460. I am thinking about using one of the 460 as a dedicated Physx card and use the 580 as the main card. Is there actual benefit of using the 460 as a...
Sorry Need not that I am ignoring you...
I am looking for 40+ frame rate that should keep it fluid in motion.
I think 40 frame rate is okay, doesn't feel like the motions are lagging.
At current setting I am only using one of my monitors since I know gtx460 SLI can not run the game in all 3...
Random question I notice that the AMD Radeon cards like 6970 only have 256-bit and the cost is at $350+ range. Where as gtx570 is at 320-bit but less ram unless you get the 2.5gb version which is at $400 range. I am not sure which one is a better deal. Honestly I dont want to spend too much...
Isn't Rad 7970 a new card that just came out? (correction will come out)
Whats the price? I think listed price on the site is just an estimate.

I am wondering if going AMD might be a better way
I am planning on upgrading my GPU
I currently have EVGA gtx460 at SLI 1gb per card. It doesn't have any issues but I want to play BF3 on three 27' LED monitors (each monitor at res of 1920x1080) on maxxed out setting.
I looked into getting a gtx590 but they are hard to come by, and is...
I got the monitor from Newegg yesterday and I am pleased. The screen size didnt make too much difference since I was going up from 25.5 inch to 27 inch. However additional options like picture in picture is nice, I was watching the military channel while BF3 was connecting and loading.
As for...
I would love to get a Samsung but they are lot more expensive.
2560x1440 on a single monitor? WOW that's insane!!!! Can your naked eye tell the difference?
I thought your eyes can't really tell the difference after 1080p resolution.
Just another question off the topic...
If I was to get a...
Hahaha Yes I know BF3 has some flaws here and there, but its still fun game to play.
Anyhow I agree with Marduk77. Its def not a huge upgrade. I was merely pointing out that Webcam and the speakers means nothing too me.
However I can tell a difference with LED backlight vs just using...
Hey Guys
Just picked up a ASUS VK278Q 27 inch for a new gaming monitor.
I am planning on replacing my ASUS VW266H Black 25.5 inch which I got in 2009.
The VW266H works perfectly well and have no issues what so ever.
The reason for the upgrade.... I want a LED vs LCD screen I have now...
the opportunity cost is too great. Even if I get hit with the 15% re-stock fee (which probably can be waived by Neweggs), its much better bang for the bucks. All from Neweggs again.
so here is my revision on Mobo, CPU and RAMs
Intel Core i7-2600K Sandy Bridge 3.4GHz (3.8GHz Turbo Boost) 4 x...
thank you all for your feed back.. Since everyone is telling me to get the LGA 1155 socket. I am going to follow your advise.
Plus you guys just save me crap load of money, where I can use it to a new graphics card(s).
What do you recommend on the RAMs then?
Sorry being a noob still little confused. I think I read somewhere that the upper end of i7s are 6 cores.
like the 960 and up were 6 cores?
Gotta hand it to Intel confusing noobs like me
At this point I was thinking about biting the bullet and getting the 980X.
If that is the case then I am going to OC the hell out it and maxing out processor.
Somewhere down the road upgrade the graphics cards.
Its def over kill for gaming. Maybe I'll let the wife use it for video editing and...
Okay thanks for the feed back. Good thing I didn't buy the 980 and the Ram yet.
Yea I realized that I am going to be stuck with i7(older gen tech) for the time being (say about 2 years, before I decide to pass down the PC).
Whats a better recommendation for a RAM and the CPU then?
I want to...
Hello
I am in process of building a new gaming rig.
Here is what I am doing.
1) What will you be doing with this PC? playing games (shogun2, crysis 2, warhammer space marine etc...), spreadsheet, and web surfing. Mostly playing the latest games.
2) What's your budget? Are tax and shipping...
