Not really. I've never had a rebate not come through. On this build I am currently at $65 in rebates. If I get this XFX card it will be another $30. Without rebates I am still under budget, but of course I want them back. I think I'll just go for it and get the 6950 and not worry about...
I guess I'm wrong. I thought I saw some reviews showing poor OCing but who knows... been doing too much research the past week to keep everything straight.
So $20 more for the cheapest GTX570 over the 6950 2gb... worth it?
Alright, I think I've decided on the Crucial M4 64gb to load Win 7 on and a game or two, plus every day programs. That's currently $90.
Also going with a 6950 2gb probably XFX brand for lifetime warranty, and comes with DX:HR (was going to buy that anyways, so that saves me more money) for...
Ok, I haven't been following SSDs that well. Lets say I go for a $250 video card, that leaves me $150 for SSD. Crucial M4 128gb is currently $170, so $20 over budget isn't horrible. What else is out there that's in my range that doesn't suck? Any good recent round-up reviews or anything?
I...
If I went 6950 wouldn't the 1gb card make sense at these resolutions? I am leaning more towards the 570 right now. I've heard some issues with overclocking on these though - if I want to OC is the standard now the MSI Twin Frozr III?
Yeah, the price is great. I'm just not convinced of future proofing. For reference, my old box was built in Fall 2006, and only received a GPU upgrade last year to a GTX460. So I keep my systems for quite a while. I suppose I could pick up a 6870 and maybe a SSD drive as well (I was...
Hi all,
I'm building a new rig for upcoming games (BF3/Skyrim, etc). Wanted some suggestions on what route to go with video card. I've already purchased:
Core i5 2500k
Gigabyte XPZ68 mobo
CM HAF 922 case
8gb DDR3 1600 RAM
Corsair HX750 PSU
plus other extra stuff. I budgeted $1000...
