When it's a problem on some games it's a real pain to non tech savvy people.
My sister has a rx 7600 and was trying to play Horizon Forbidden West. That game was a nightmare to fix up. There were like 3 sliders that would hit the vram hard and THEN I had to figure out it was the buggy ass...
The local GameStop around here turned into a partial hobby store. It's got toys, plastic model kits, plushies, and even some DND stuff I think.
I think it was the right choice.
You are absolutely correct. They actually put further development time into improving the h265 encoder instead of other encoders, despite common knowledge that hevc was dead since 2016-17 due to patent pools.
Whoever was responsible for the planning of those projects really messed up. If they...
Arctic released new series of static pressure fans called the p12 and p14. They are pretty cheap.

Long time lurker few time poster.
In order to use these drivers you need to have Windows 1809 build and probably use ddu to clean out the old ones.
I know you guys hate Microsoft store, but as long as you never log in, it should be fine. The control panel auto installs first time you install...
I had seriously had my heart set on this board until I heard it had no offset voltage settings on any of the MSI AM4 boards. That makes C state overclocking and messing with PBO pretty much impossible.
Really frustrating how MSI would omit this baseline feature.
As for USB keyboard and...
May I make a suggestion for the video encoding test? By the devs admission Handbrake isn't much good for utilizing multicores using x264 and x265.
Lots of people still encode using x264 and x265, but other programs run multiple instances of them to fully saturate the CPU, and combine the...
I was shopping around for the chairs this week.
I got the hensley, but didnt realize it was MUCH taller than my other chair and a lot of other chairs available. My desk is like 24inches tall from the ground, old chair was around 25inches from the ground on the armrests.
The new chair is...
I'm currently using a beat up big and tall fabric covered chair. It's lost all it's padding and it's arm is glued together.
I seemed to miss this deal. Know of another?
Hi Kyle
I have a feature request for the reviews. Instead of handbrake presets can you focus on x264 at maybe 1080p and x265 at like 1080p or 4k?
I have a i7 920 myself still and one of the biggest improvements to x265 is it's avx and fma3 optimizations. It would contrast IPC improvements to...

Yea thats pretty bad luck. I usually buy from amazon and give them the key. I did it for a couple friends and it works fine.
Its comments like this make me wonder if humanity is going to survive as a race. :(
People expect us to get into a real space age eventually, but have no intention on setting the foundation for that to actually happen. You claim the money will add up over time, but what is a bigger threat...

Sorry im in a computer programming class right now.(zzzz) My sentences must be running together.
I have multiple toons I play to fill multiple roles. Lately though I will only play either Leona or Skarner. Leona if everyones too lazy to tank and I have to.
Skarner I dont build tank. I say...
I have been playing for a long time now with close to 550 wins. I mostly just play with friends, but sometimes il game on my own too and help new people out as well. Though people will say im sometimes harsh on new folk, I was raised on this game the same way and come lvl 30 they are better for...
I actually do not recommend sRGB mode. While its supposedly very accurate, the colors seem kinda dull since you have no control over the contrast. As well slight banding is supposedly noticeable (according to reviews, wasnt obvious to me).
What I did was keep it on standard, which has no...
If you mean you had the Samsung 2333t, then it is not a TN panel. The ML249H is a AMVA panel and the Samsung is a cPVA panel. Since they are both VA, they are actually pretty similar in workings with only some differences.
As for color banding, since its situational, I have personally seen...
The ZR24W I tried out had worse blacks and uniformity issues than the PA246Q I stayed on. As well since its E-IPS it has the purple angle glow compared to the slight white glow the H-IPS has.
The Dell and Asus are praised by reviews to have a much better sRGB emulation mode than alot of...
Wait wait. You dont have to have a hard time with exchanges, just dont buy monitors from newegg. Try Amazon instead, they are helpful and dont ask too many questions when you want to return stuff.

PA246Q is minor improvements...
I game quite a bit and I have no trouble. The response time is excellent, slightly better than my old S-PVA which was overdriven. This monitor has no overdriven side effects. The input lag is very similar to my old one which never went beyond 20ms. So I would say its the same on this. 15-25ms. I...
I used to use sRGB, but you cannot adjust contrast when you have that option selected. Alternatively set it to standard mode and set your video card to use the EDID settings. That way you can try to see if you can increase the contrast setting without letting the whites get washed out. I was...
Cant help you there Senna. You would be best finding a way to try it out yourself. If your able to get it from Amazon, they have a excellent return policy.
I just started playing Fear 3. My black levels are horrid and I guess the contrast ratio too. Any idea on how I can make it any better...
Senna89 it has no trouble on text at all. I sit on it reading stuff for hours myself. The only negative thing I saw when switching from a S-PVA was the loss of black detail as a result of the dark glow(only bothersome while playing dark games) . Though I had tried out the ZR24W before this one...
Well as I said before, the coating is only noticeable on solid bright color areas. It doesnt effect readability and you can see lines just fine.
I see myself as having high standards on monitors, especially coming from a exceptional S-PVA (one that seemed to stand out compared to other ones)...
When I first got it maybe, but I turned the brightness down to 30 I think and then it was fine. I think lowering the brightness also reduces the glow a bit, but if you turn it down too much you lose contrast and dark detail.
Banding is probably made worse because its a 6bit panel (plus dithering).
Question about the response time: You mentioned the response time sucks, does the monitor have a option for the overdrive just like its other cPVA monitor equivalents...
You will like the PA246Q for its better response time for one thing. It doesnt have any of the overdrive overshoot like VA panel overdrives do.
You will like it for its many imputs and good input lag time.
Finally you will like it because it has no banding, which I believe any monitor that...
Specs are as follows:
Core i7 920 / 6gb ram / Vista 64bit / Radeon 5870 / X-fi SB / PA246Q
For the people that dont have this monitor feel free to ask me questions, I can probably check some stuff for you all on the monitor.
An update for you Sethk. I have a Spyder2Pro that ive been using to calibrate the monitor. The colors are pretty good on the monitor but the calibration tool seems to put it a little warmer it seems. Right now I used the 2.2 : Native mode so it didnt change the colors too much. Instead I now...
